Velvet Sparkle and her family are relaxing away from the hustle and intrigue of Canterlot, when her foster grand-foal falls ill. To help pass the time and comfort the filly, Velvet recounts the story of her younger years. It is a tale filled with loss and heart-ache, vengeance and redemption, hatred and love, and a small filly, lost in a land vastly different from Equestria, that just wanted to go home. A tale whose origins were formed before the founding of Equestria itself, and the struggle that birthed the great nation.

It is the story of how Velvet Sparkle met the Queen in Stone.

Well, not Rarity, but who cares about Rarity Schmarity because THIS story about Rainbow "Awesome" Dash being the first to find a lost princess of legend.

One-shot based on prompts submitted by Ko-Fi Subscribers. Prompt was "Enchanted Library but it's Dash who finds Twilight instead of Rarity".

Rarity has expanded her business into Canterlot and even helped Rainbow Dash fly with the Wonderbolts. This may just be the greatest moment of her life.

And yet, on the train back to Ponyville, she can't help but think about what could still go wrong. Fortunately, one of her friends is here to listen to her worries... though Rainbow Dash seems to have her own concerns at the moment.

There's an eternal debate over what the real purpose of Hearth's Warming is: giving gifts, reconnecting with family, remembering the Fire of Friendship, and dozens of other interpretations. It's not a dire question, and many ponies don't give a second thought about their answer.

Rarity, however, did.

Written as part of The Incredible Amazeballs Jinglemas Secret Santa Compilation. Go read everything else there, even if you don't like this story. Seriously, it's got people like shortskirtsandexplosions and KitsuneRisu in it: it's high-quality stuff.

All things considered, Rarity finds a bitter prom better than a lonely one.

Still, it doesn't make watching her dream school dance from afar any less pitiful. Neither does Rainbow Dash's insistence on hanging around.

Or; misery loves company, and no one loves rejection -- it's a bitter slow dance, really.

While out in the rain, Rainbow Dash is greeted by the last pony she'd expect to be out in the rain. Thankfully, this once in a lifetime opportunity may just allow the pegasus to confess her deepest feelings.
