When Rarity is at the end of her rope in need of an emerald to finish an order, Jack comes through with the only one to be had in the town or surrounding countryside. But Rarity recognizes it; a gift she gave Jack long ago, when they were schoolgirls and Rarity was unable to decide what her feelings for Jack were. Knowing that the farmer kept it all these years makes her reconsider her stance on the rough cowgirl.

An ancient evil has awakened. No, really, it has. From the depths of time, a black, noxious threat has risen up after millennia of imprisonment. However, to do so, they must uncover the truths about the Elements of Harmony, and the truths about the ancient forerunners of Equestrian culture. What they find will challenge their conceptions of their own places in history and ponydom's place in the world. The six Bearers of the Elements must draw upon their friendship and the strength of their hearts to stand firm against the darkness. If they fail, it will mean the end of everything.

Rarity always believed that she knew exactly who she was, what she wanted, and exactly how she would obtain it. Then she fell for somepony wholly unexpected: Applejack. When unhappy tidings call Rarity to the frozen North to spend the Hearth's Warming holiday with her relatives, Applejack accompanies her into the family fray.

The ponies arrive in Whinnyapolis at a time of endings, and find that relationships can be fragile things, vulnerable to the cold. Rarity will search her past for the key to her future, but the old house at Maple Cove may not hold all the answers she needs. Perhaps, though, two ponies will learn that there really is no place like home for the holidays.

Hoping to help the process along, Granny Smith hires the best matchmaker in Equestria to pair her two oldest grandchildren with their potential new mate. Her plan is flawless...except for all the flaws.

Twilight and Applejack are engaged. Life seems wonderful... yet Applejack doubts. Twilight seems happy, but she's so busy everywhere but Sweet Apple Acres. Two ponies are stuck in their own worlds, or at least that's how it seems to Applejack. When Twilight is called away from the harvest for an important political summit in Canterlot, Applejack decides in her loneliness that the only way to bridge the gap she fears is forming is to head off into a world of magic and intrigue after her favorite unicorn. She will place herself as a seal on Twilight's heart, come hell or high water.

Twilight hasn't emerged from her library in over two weeks, and Applejack has had enough. The only thing stopping her from bucking the door down is Rarity - the two friends once again at the opposite ends of an argument.

When events quickly change and escalate beyond all expectations however, and Applejack finds herself needing the others more than ever, it is Rarity who steps up to the the vast chasm that comes between them and Rarity who reaches for the other side.

But time is unkind, and Applejack does not have forever. The events that unfold around her will force her to the very edge, but when she falls into the unknown, who will be there to catch her? Will Rarity and the others reach her in time, or will she be forced to bet everything on an even greater risk just to survive?

Sometimes, Friendship just isn't enough. When Applejack truly understands that, she confronts the problem. That problem's name is Twilight Sparkle.
