Twilight stumbles across one of Equestria's most closely-guarded secrets, something that Celestia refuses to tell even her. But how far will she go to find the answers, and will they be worth it in the end?
Meanwhile, Applejack has been having strange nightmares, ones she hasn't experienced since she was a filly. But what do these cryptic sequences mean?
Lastly, Rarity is forced into another conflict with her own element when a disgraced cousin appears, begging for the dressmaker's protection from the law.
But how are these three events connected, and what could it mean for the future -and the past- of Equestria?

Luna knew she would need help if she were to succeed in overthrowing her sister. Help was not as hard to find as she had expected, and to couple her new found lieutenants with a powerful artifact that may even be enough to keep the Elements of Harmony at bay, there was surely no way she could ever lose. But when her moment of triumph came, they were nowhere to be found.

Now, a thousand years later, she must come to face the monsters she herself had created.

Luna comes to Twilight for help in learning about friendship. However, this leades to her falling in love with her sister's student. However, deep within her mind, Nightmare Moon is starting to crawl out again and with an approaching Solar Eclipse to aid in her growth of power, will Twilight be able to conquer Moon through her love or will the Nightmare be free and the night last forever?

Lives will be changed, Friendships will be tested, loves will be lost and when Nightmare rises, Equestria will never ever be the same.

What if Twilight has been lying to her friends all along and her real mother is Princess Celestia herself?

I got the idea while writing Prism and Glimmer. This story is just to dive into what it would be like if Celestia was Twilight's biological mother. (Teen because pissed Celestia does not hold back on language. Romance tag for some Lunestia).

Princess Luna knows a thing or two about nightmares and dream magic. Her duties at Night Court have become tedious. With the help of some forbidden power she reaches out to a certain Element of Magic for the companionship and knowledge of modern Equestria she desires. But while Luna is distracted and Celestia sleeps, an old evil returns with plans both dire and terrible and a new evil plots under their noses.
(Story takes places roughly between season 2 and season 3, so post-changlings, pre-Sombra)
