Sunset Shimmer needs a vacation. She doesn't feel she can really match the accomplishments of the ponies around her, and even though she knows leaving Canterlot is just running away from her problems for a while, maybe it's what she needs to get her head back in the game.

Griffonstone needs someone to save it. The griffons won't ever admit that, but it isn't half the city it used to be. The birds still in town do everything they can to leave, and the whole place is ravaged by terrible gale-force winds.

Twilight questions who's journal she's reading and ends up having a talk with Sunset Shimmer.

After that, Sunset and 'Twilight', become friends.

Sunset has decided to return home... wherever that may be.

The orphanage where she was left?

The castle where the princess had emotionally abandoned her?

She walks the foreign but familiar world, hoping to find something to make her life worthwhile.

Will she find somewhere, or someone, to call home?

Unable to stop Starlight Glimmer's plan to stop the Sonic Rainboom, Twilight Sparkle and Spike pleaded desperately for her to stand down. In canon, Starlight relented at the last second and consequently reformed.

But what would have happened if Starlight gave a different reaction to Twilight's friendship offer and hoof?

Spoiler alert: it ended with one of them in roaring laughter.
