Spike and Sweetie Belle go on their first date together. It's filled with all the cute, awkward moments you could hope for. However, when some inner feelings are brought to light, things could take a turn for the worse.

What if two mares of great magic had been born in each other's towns?
Twilight Sparkle in Hoofington, and The Great and Powerful Trixie in Canterlot?
Would that change their destiny?

Brought up in the rich and high-class city of Canterlot, Trixie had all life could offer. When her magic began to blossom, her parents did everything they could to make sure she got into Celestia's Private School for Gifted Unicorns. Out of sheer pride, Trixie knew she had to pass that entrance exam and make her parents proud.
Unlike the test of the Dragon Egg that is posed to students who have already been accepted into the school, the test posed to Trixie was to lift a Phoenix feather a foot into the air. This test is actually much more difficult than it sounds, as it requires perfect control and power to lift such a magical item.
After struggling with the feather for almost an hour, Trixie was about to give up when a crashing boom ricocheted across the sky, and startled her into awaking power she didn't know she had, causing her to not only lift the feather far into the air, but also imbue it with life and create a newborn phoenix. As the instructors dived for cover from the brilliant blue flames that were beginning to surge, a red phoenix could be seen winging off towards the Solar Tower.
Before any lasting damage could be done, Celestia arrives to calm the awoken magic, and take the young filly under her wing as her personal student.

So it seems that destiny has indeed changed... But will the change of two fillies' paths change the path of a black Alicorn's as well?

A lonely and broken Trixie Lulamoon endeavors to make a special day as memorable as possible.

A short one-shot story about the past, present, and future, taking place several months after the events of Magic Duel.

At a fair held in the town of Dappleshore, Twilight stumbles upon something from her family's past and is drawn to investigate. But will she succumb to its sinister influence, and can Trixie and Luna set their differences aside to help her?

The title and certain themes were inspired by the song Filistata by Stolen Babies. The plot is loosely based on The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H. P. Lovecraft.

This story was updated and improved on June 27, 2013 along with the addition of a bonus chapter. The changes are not massive, but there are a few new details and scenes.

This is a redemption story set after the end of season 2.

Arc 1: While on a trip in Hoofington, Twilight and her friends stumble across an old acquaintance of theirs, who, on her first visit to Ponyville, had to left town pretty hastly. Will Twilight be able to make peace with this mare, after a life she has spent hiding behind a mask of arrogance and boastfulness?

Her show rejected and her reputation in ruins, Trixie returns to Canterlot in search of one more chance to prove her ability as a unicorn and showmare. But can she swallow her pride long enough to accept an offer from the one pony that she never expected to see again?

Trixie has struggled to live after her magic duel with Twilight. Ponies everywhere have heard of how she kicked the pony who saved Equestria twice out of Ponyville. She was starving, practically homeless, and was about just to give up on life that is before she is offered to be Princess Luna's student in Canterlot. Before she knows it, her life changes drastically. She gets reunited with family, becomes stronger and famous than her rival, makes friends, and even saves Equestria from a growing evil that even the mane 6 might not be able to stop.

Feeling broken and defeated, Trixie Lulamoon leaves behind the Country of Equestria, and all of the ponies within it that don't want her there, in search of a new land that she may either call her home, or her final resting place.

She discovers the Crystal Empire, and to her shock, the ponies there aren't nasty, hateful creatures, but are actually kind, and welcoming to this new Unicorn stranger in their land. Appletini and Azure Eminence offer to help Trixie in rebuilding her career, and promise that she doesn't have to go back home if she doesn't want to, and the broken Unicorn slowly begins to feel right at home in this new land.

Arrogance is just a mask, a shield against the world outside of our own existence. That's the funny thing about masks; we always cast them aside to put on another.
