Although still a novice flier, Twilight has begun to feel comfortable in the sky. But when Rainbow Dash asks her to enter a flying pairs competition with her, she believes that her inexperience will only hinder her friend's chances of winning. Twilight's misgivings deepen when Rainbow learns that two old rivals will be competing as well, and her desire to win begins to drive a wedge between them. Full of doubt of her own abilities and anger toward Rainbow's fierce ambition to beat the others, will Twilight overcome these obstacles and compete with her friend, or will she quit the competition altogether?

Being a princess is stressful, but your peers and friends can certainly help.

That was what Twilight had in mind when she invited Luna over for tea one afternoon. A relaxing, friendly meeting between two fellow princesses where they can commiserate and share their experiences. An invitation to a stronger friendship than they had before, offered to a pony displaced in time.

What she got was an uncomfortable assertion about her relationship with her number one assistant, Spike. One that she is having difficulty refuting.

They say you can’t miss what you’ve never had. And Scootaloo would be inclined to agree with them. Except, she did have all a little filly would want from a home, and she does miss what she lost. Not that anypony would help her get it back.

Flight school was hard enough, so this definitely won't be a breeze. But that won't stop Scootaloo from doing her best to impress her foalhood hero.

Author's Note: For continuity purposes, this story takes place after The Apple Blooms and before Love is is Bloom, but is otherwise completely stand-alone.

It was a semi-normal day as Twilight was mapping out the Everfree forest. She didn't know why, but she doesn't care. She told Spike to leave when she might get hurt, but she didn't care. Until see comes upon a magic cave that will charge her life forever. Now she wants to share her new found power with her friends.

Four years ago, life in Equestria changed. A unknown race appear through a magical vortex of dark magics and attacked to drain the very land of the magic they want. Four years of bloody warfare has left half of Equestria lifeless and barren. Princess Celestia was injured as she tried to wield the Elements of Harmony against this foe only to have them shattered to pieces, lost forever. Now, only the brave fighting folk of the Equestrian Armed Forces keep this Evil at bay, but the war has ground to a standstill, neither side able to get a true upper hand. But nothing can keep the stalemate, something has to give.
