This story is a sequel to The Dragon Sage

After the events that took place in The Dragon Sage, Twilight and Spike have quietly started living and loving in their castle. Other ponies are bound to find out, so how will they respond? What does this mean for their friends and neighbors?

If you haven't read the previous story, I suggest it, but it is not necessary. Most characters and references to The Dragon Sage take a back seat role in this slice-of-life story. It's more as an extended epilogue than anything else.

Spike's happy world has always revolved around Twilight. From his hatching to their adventures in Ponyville, he has remained a faithful companion and loyal friend. But why is it that he has remained a baby for all of these years? There is so much about dragons that they do not know. In a rude awakening, Spike receives a letter from Princess Luna who promises to help Spike meet his potential. But how much will he change? Will his friends see him differently? And how will his life with Twilight evolve?

Twilight discovers Discord in-hiding - which is strange enough - but the discussion they have causes her to consider the particulars of true harmony, and whether or not a being such as he should be allowed to live freely to retain his part in it.

In the dregs of sleeplessness the princess stirs, thoughts of her old home rising unbidden in her mind. If she is to even hope at any sleep tonight, she must confront what remains of the library and move past the loss. Once there, however, she finds a friend with something on his mind, too.

In the past few weeks since Twilight has started dating, Spike has found himself spending more and more time alone in the castle. Normally he would be willing to put up with his own loneliness, in exchange for her happiness, but when the dark of the night comes around, he can't help but wonder if he really is alone.

Anypony would have laughed if you'd told them that Discord was flirting with Twilight Sparkle a few weeks ago. She'd never give him a chance, right?
Well, once his spectacularly obvious advances on her commence, Equestria is shocked; she isn't out right rejecting him. In fact, she may even be interested.

After Rarity falls for a new prince, Spike is infuriated for wasting five years of his life trying to please her. So Twilight, being the good friend she is, decides to calm him down as much as she can. However, she may have been a little too nice to him, because later that night Spike begins to have romantic dreams about her. At first they horrify him, but eventually he begins to like them. Then he finally begins to understand why he keeps having these dreams; he's beginning to fall in love with his best friend, but will she return his affection or leave him out in the cold like Rarity?

Twilight is living an a mental hospital after supposedly she sees Discord, but no pony else can see him. She lives her days out in the hospital reading books and being tormented daily by Discord. Day after day she is bothered by him, and no matter how much she screams and yells at him, he never stops.

The only place of true solace is in her dreams, where her meds have stop him from entering. But when one night he appears and says he is actually alive but weak, Twilight is unsure to believe if its the insanity speaking or is actually him trying to reach her.

After the Events with Tirek and the box that became the seed of friendship, Discord took it upon himself to give Twilight a better present than a key that was once a medallion.

He gave her the Earring's of Profound Change.

It was said in the Journal of Star Swirl that these earrings allowed one, if the right statement is said whilst wearing them, they would spend an allotted amount of time as something other than pony.

This is the story of how Twilights once boring life literally took a turn at the road of Banana's and Crazy town, but maybe she could live with it.
