I’ve been to places most have never even seen, walked on the shoulders of the gods and yet, even with all the knowledge I’ve gained over the course of my adventures among the havens, when I met a horse on the moon, it became quite clear that there was a great deal about the universe that is still a mystery to me.

'What is it about humans that urges them seek out so many endeavors in order to feed their desires? Greed, power, family, friends, philosophy, knowledge; infinite goals and infinite reasons behind them. Whoever or whatever created these beings are either cunning; to create self motivating creatures that will constantly push the limits of what's possible, or downright cruel; never truly allowing them to feel true fulfillment or satisfaction. The point is humans were created with a void, a missing piece left intentionally empty never to be filled, an undying hunger.'

A bit grim right? The names Rodney, and in case you're wondering, this is the story of my life. A life of Magic, Gods, and regrettably, Ponies. Yeah, freakin-multi-techno-collored-goody-ponies.
But it's not all bad really, got way healthier with a more green diet. Though the lack of meat can be painful at times, that one landed me in less than desired situations. I get to screw with innocent ponies on a regular basis. Didn't kill myself or everyone else with me either. So not a bad deal really, even ended up retiring as teacher.

An idea that sparked a story. Immortality is an often used plot device with a Human In Equestria story, and I wanted something different, something new, something... fresh. Thus, the concept of mimicking the phoenix came to life, and from it, this story.

One day however, life decides to give Phil a taste of his own medicine when the effects of an ancient comet send him to the magical pastel world of Equestria, but not without consequences. Starlight Skydancer fell deeply in love with a human that came to her dreams. Determined to be with him she calls upon Princess Luna for help to be with her love. The Princess reluctantly granted her wish and to protect her from the harshness of the human-world she transformed her figure into the appearance of a human.

Three year's pass, before Luna hears a very distant cry of help from Starlight. She transports her back and finds that she has turned back into pony and isn't alone. She had brought her newborn son, Jason, back with her, but this wasn't a colt. It was a human baby. With wings!

Rarity has always been a pony who indulges herself in the finest things in life, but also enjoys being in the company of her friends and family. She is a successful fashionista, a refined mare whose love is fashion, and a dear friend to those who need her.

From time to time she watches over her little sister Sweetie Belle while her parents are away on vacation. Sometimes she throws Sweetie off on one of her friends so she don't have to bother with her at times although she does love her sister.

However, how would Rarity react when discovers an abandoned child, a human child to be exact? How would she respond when she is thrown into being the mother figure/caretaker of this small one?

While watching over the land of Equestria during the night, Luna hears the mind, and heart of a young child. She enters into the child's dream, only to find that he is being abused by his own parents. She chases away his fears, and decides to take him with her to Equestria.

She sees the pain the little boy is in, and decides to protect him from anymore harm, becoming the caretaker/mother of the helpless human. How would the Princess of the Sun and Luna's sister, Princess Celestia react after discovering the child? How will the many other ponies of Equestria react to an unknown creature in their home?
