Being a member of this sight for quite some time it should be no surprise that I've read some fanfics, and here are my favorite original characters that have spawned from this part of the fandom. None of which are made by me because that would be cheating, a bit narcissistic, and well I think it would be obvious who number one would be.
Anyways onto the list.
10. Prince Onyx
From: The Tales of Prince Onyx
I just realized how hard it'll be to go into detail about these characters without giving anything away, but I'll try not to. This is a character I like because we see how he's raised, his childhood friendship with Twilight, relationship with the Griffin Emperor, ect.
Granted one problem with the story itself is the grammar, but the author's first language isn't English, so I personally can let it slide.
9. Big Lugnut
From: Robotic Stallion Big Lugnut
Okay even thought this guy is Seth's opponent for Death Battle: Equestria, which has still not been updated in awhile, but RLYoshi is a busy guy. Anyways I read his story just to see what Seth was up against, which even after reading it I'm not too sure on who's going to win, and I ended up really enjoying the story, despite some parks not making sense to me and it having like four or five sub-plots.
Lugnut himself is a likable character, just with his child-like nature, ganted something happens to destroy that, but I don't wanna give too much away.
8. Jason Morgan
From: Wake Up. See This. What Do? and Wake Up. See This. What Do? - Part 2: Raise the Flag
Yes someone from one of Razor's stories, shock of all shocks I know. Still this guy gave us many funny moments and running jokes, mostly thanks to everyone who comments, and Razor himself for making sense of the insanity, still wish my comment driven story was as popular. Still it's fun to see how far he will go to NOT sleep with a pony.
7. Brian Dash
From: My Little Dashie, My Little Dashie: A Sequel, My Little Dashie: A Threequel, and
My Little Dashie: Fourth Times the Charm
If you didn't like My Little Dashie go fuck yourself. Seriously the first one is my favorite fanfic ever, and yes as you can see from the links above there's more. Granted each on is written by different people and there are probably more unoffical sequels out there, but I think at least the first sequel listed was approved by ROBCakeran53, you can count it was canon the the first one, and hell, I personally count the other two here.
6. Echo
From: The Ballad of Echo the Diamond Dog and The Legend of Echo the Diamond Dog
Oh man, how the hell do I talk about Echo without giving anything away... Screw it, I won't talk about him. Just read these stories, you'll thank me later.
5. Nyx
From: Past Sins, Nightmare or Nyx, Trinkets, and Winter Bells
Past Sins is another story that if you don't like it, than screw you. What can I say about her that hasn't already been said, or that you wouldn't already know, since I'd assume that most of you have read or at least heard of Past Sins and if not, that what rock are you living under?
4. Conner
From: Equestria's First Human, Conner at the Royal Wedding, and Sweetie Crush
Okay, the pic I used does kinda spoil the ending of the first one a little bit, yet so does the art of the other stories so who cares. Anyways, this is one of the first OCs I ever came across and he was one that I liked almost right away. Due to in the first chapter he has to deal with idiots at school, kinda like myself, yet I don't get sent to Equestria, though with how the ponies acted at first that might be a good thing. Oh it's so hard to talk about characters without spoiling stuff.
3. Plymouth Valient
From: The Dreams Series
This guy is fucking insane, is rude to basically everyone, creates weapons and technology just because he can, give no fucks at all, and I love him for it. Seriously read these stories. READ THEM!
2. Griffin North
From: Griffin the Griffin and Falling Feathers
Now this is basically how Valient would be like, if he wasn't a total dick. We have here the OC that might as well be the mascot of the Chessgame of the Gods universe, and for good reason, he's totally badass, without given the impression of being overpowered, yet with Chessverse basically everyone is. He's a good guy who cares about his crew, who he sees as his family. And I find that as a great quality.
1. Laughing Stock
From: What is Fame Without Friendship, Her Big Brother, His Big Problem, Laughing Stock is a Cheater, Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better, and First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage
Yes, my favorite pony OC is black and red, deal with it. Seriously, these stories are gold, yes the first one has some problems, like instalove and Applejack being slightly out of character, but the other stories make up for it, especially Her Big Brother, His Big Problem. Sadly, the author canceled First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, and says that he won't do anything else with the character, but hey I can always hope that he'll change his mind.

My favorite OC's are
Semper Pie from deathtap's story Semper Pie. He's Pinkie Pie's older brother who is Equestria's Greatest soldier despite being an earth pony in a regiment of Pegasi and Unicorns.
Comet Burst and Angel Beats from The Golden Armor by Comet Burst. A pegasus and bat pony duo in the royal guard. Great comedy with these two, but also good drama.
And Private Eye from the Equestria Noir series by Jacoboby1. Private Detective that solves cases with help from Mane 6, usually individually, and it introduces many great original characters as well. I highly recommend this series for great writing and consistent updates.
