Quick PonkUpdate · 12:57am Jan 27th, 2013

"The Sisters Doo" is done. I've finished writing it. "Through the Looking-glass" is about 2,000 words from completion, which won't take me very long. I'll probably write it at the beginning of next week. At this point we're just waiting on my prereaders, statoose and Honey Mead so go bug them about it for me.

Phew. Y'know, I'm not sure if you all are aware, but I'm a pretty big fan of Skirts' Background Pony. When it was nearing its completion, I kept asking him, "How does it feel to be so close to the end?"

He said "F'naaaaaa."

When it finally finished, I asked, "Soooo? How does it feel to be done, finally, with such a huge, epic story?"

He said "F'naaaaaa."

And now I've come to the end of my own "epic". Admittedly, it's only 1/4 as long (and not even 1/10 as cool) as Background Pony, but... I think I sort of understand what he meant. I thought that finishing a novel this big and intricate would be a good feeling. But... it's not. If anything, it's quite a sad feeling. A lot like goodbye.

Reminds me of how close the real "arrivederci" is, and how hard it will be to say goodbye to all of you. If I'm getting teary letting go of Daring Do, whose personality and experiences I made up, imagine how hard it will be for me to say goodbye to the wonderfolk: the real, living people who have been so kind and loving and supportive of me and my silly stories. It's hard to fathom. I'm glad I still have a week to brace myself.

In the meantime, get prepped for the end of it all. I'm super proud of the endings to both stories (well... they're pretty much just one big story), and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Ponky
(also, luuurrrrved the new episode. Favorite of Season 3, by far.)

Congrats on finishing Ponky.
Also, it's not goodbye, you're just running off to do something really cool for awhile. It's not like we'll forget you.

I'm both :pinkiehappy: and :fluttercry: at the same time. Why do you do this to me Ponky!

F'nnnaaaa

Don't worry too much Ponky! We'll miss you too, but it's not like this is forever! As long as you're happy with going to Italy, then we, as your Wonderfolk, are happy too!

As for the episode today, it felt a lot like season 1 or 2, which is a good thing. I'm also wondering where the hell is Pee-Wee!? They showed pictures of the adorable little bastard at the very start for goodness sake! I thought a pet-sitting episode with Spike would include SPIKE'S OWN FUCKING PET! That was what I was looking forward to!

We're all gonna miss you, Ponky. I think what you're doing for the next two years is amazing, and you're going to have a phenomenal time doing it. And then when you return, we'll all be waiting for you. With cake! We already baked it, we're just gonna store it in the pantry for two years.

What's this 'goodbye' bull? The proper term is 'farewell'; as in, 'fare well until the next time we meet.'

Don't think you're gonna just up and ditch us, mister Burton. That's not gonna fly around here, no matter how many planes you hop on. We are here for you because we love you. Two years isn't gonna change that, y'know. We're still going to be here, and you're still going to be there, just several hundred miles east, without Internet access.

Keep that in mind, ya crazy Mormon. And keep us in mind, too. Friendships last forever, right?

755496 How does one pronounce F'naaaaa? :rainbowhuh:

755632 Love how you said "mister Burton" instead of his internet handle :rainbowlaugh:

Ky, would it be possible to send us a location to send you mail? I would certainly write. And you'd find out my actual name, hah.

755750 Listen to the end of "Space is a Waste":

755750

Ky, would it be possible to send us a location to send you mail? I would certainly write.

This. You may be without internet, but letters are OK, right?

Almost finished? I can't wait!

But then that means you'll be gone soon, which puts a damper on that. Huzzah for mixed feelings? :unsuresweetie:

755760 Hmm... Strange way to pronounce it, but I guess it's his word anyway :rainbowwild:
I thought it sounded like: Effin' Ay. :rainbowlaugh:

756123 Lol.

On a related note, that is my second favorite brony song of all time. :moustache:

756128 Hmm... to which song are you referring to? :derpyderp1:

756141 Um, "Space is a Waste"? :trixieshiftright:

756144 Gaaaaaaaak, I'm silly and I forget easily... :twilightoops:
I liked the lyrics, but the execution (I really hate to say this...) I felt was a tad overdone. :fluttershyouch:

756157 How so? I thought his piano work and voice were amazing. :moustache:

756165 The piano work was good, but the voicing was too... trying? Like, if someone was trying too hard for an audition on a really prestigious show (Not American Idol.), it might sound like Ky did in SiAW.

756185 Not really, his voicework was great in my opinion. I like the slight reverb the acoustics of his room added, and he put just the right inflictions in.

756194 Perhaps our opinions are different. But this doesn't do anything to my respect for yours. :moustache:

756212 Maybe the tone carried too much passion for me... I suppose I like mellow sounding vocals. :scootangel:

756218 I am all for passion in my music. It's the emotion I look for rather than the actual sound of their voice. Coupled with Pony's amazing key and tone, the song was amazing.

Is TSD the first long story you've finished? Your first novel, as it were?

It's not goodbye, buddy. It's just "see you later".

757685 No, but it is my first work of fanfiction to finish, and it's definitely the first story that I can proudly say is written fairly well with a storyline and characters I'm glad to say are "mine" (as far as one can say that in fanfiction).

Good to hear from you, CiG.
