If Love's a Word that You'll Say, Then Say It, I Will Listen · 12:15am Jan 22nd, 2018

Hey there, Wonderfolk. It's been a bit.

That there's the latest in a growing slew of songs over at theKyBurton, my primary YouTube channel. I've been getting great support and suggestions from the Wonderfolk over at Patreon, and together we're pumping out several songs a month. More on the way, so subscribe on YouTube or become a patron if you like what you hear here, here, and here.

Skirts has been doing a nice blog looking back at 2012 that just got to the good part (just kidding, that whole thing's been great). Check it out if you haven't already, or if you just want to read a bit about "his side of the story".

Let me know what's going on with you guys in the comments, too. How do you like the songs I've been making? What are you excited about these days? Any new games, movies, shows, or music that's really stood out to you lately? I'd love to read your voices.

See ya around,
Pon(Ky)

Thanks for that song, again, bro. It was fantastic.

Dayum dude, you are good. Subbed so I can hear the next one!

I've been absolutely loving the songs. Only problem is that because I'm listening to your versions without hearing the originals first, I'm becoming biased to your covers over the originals...

Came over here from SS&E's blog. Dude, your voice is awesome. Keep on rockin'!

It's okay, we're all sort of biased to Ponky's covers!

Loving the music, man. Keep it up!

What are you excited about these days?

Well, since you asked...

I'm excited about life in general right now. I can't quite put my finger on why, especially since the world is kind of a dump right now, but ever since the calendar ticked over to 2018, things have just been... brighter. My horseword production volume has suddenly doubled (and it was already fast), I'm keeping a real sleep schedule, I'm frittering away less time simply staring and doing nothing, and I think I've read more in the last two weeks than the previous three months put together. And that's not to say things were bad before, because 2017 was a pretty good year for me, all things considered. I'm just feeling great, period. Stuff is better.

As far as games go, I'm a little behind on new releases: putting out Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade 2 within a month wasn't a good way for Nintendo to keep me on board. The real recent stellar game for me, though, is NieR: Automata. I don't have anything that can run it, myself, but watched a friend do a full playthrough in-person. It won Best Soundtrack at the 2017 Game Awards (rightfully so), too, so I guess that counts for exciting music too? It's what I used for reading music for finishing the second half of Background Pony so I could keep up with Skirts' blogs without getting spoiled. Excellent for anything post-apocalyptic, melancholic, weighty or simply heartbreaking.

This particular song was certainly good. I'm a little bit late to the party, though, and really need to dig around your youtube some time to get a feel for everything else...

Personally, quarantine has really gotten me interested in a variety of new media and concepts. I also discovered I sound super grandiesta(made up word) when I stay up too late
