So, here's how it happened, in a nutshell: After I got D&S posted up, I decided to take some time off from it to start writing a different story, Second Thoughts.

My first attempt failed, so I tried again. Second attempt, not much better, so I tried again. I got frustrated with myself and started slacking in writing. Eventually, I started a third time. That started to work, but so, so slowly. The style of Second Thoughts is a very different, much more challenging style for me.

Hey all,
So I submit D&D the day I leave for vacation. Up in Oregon, I snag an internet connection at a Starbucks, and staring at me in my mailbox is a reply from the Fanfic box of EQD, dated the day after I sent it in.

They liked it. They conditionally accepted it.

There's still one minor rewrite I have to do first, and I have to send an outline for the remaining unwritten chapters, which has taken up most of my vacation writing time that I had intended to give to Second Thoughts.

Hey all,
So I uploaded the revised and fixed version of D&S, then I went back and read through 'em again, finding and fixing it up a bit more.

Finally, all is in order, and I've resubmitted the new and improved Ditz and Spitz to EQD as of today. Wish it luck.

In other news, as of this Saturday, 6/9, I am going on vacation for a week to visit with family in Oregon, so even if D&S gets accepted immediately, I may not know about it. I do plan to write while on vacation, but not D&S.

So I've gotten a few messages, both on DeviantART and FIMFiction, which can be boiled down into two basic categories:

Well, honestly, I hit a lethargy wave and just rode that bi**h like a surfer. Though it took a bit longer than I'd hoped to find someone to review D&S, once they did, it was rapidly and quite thoroughly reviewed, with many helpful comments (much thanks, Pav Feira).

I'm submitting the FIMFiction version for review, simply because it is one URL and thus easier to submit that way. They SHOULD all be the same, but one never knows...

Hey all,
So as of 23:30 tonight, the revised version of Ditz and Spitz has gone up, replacing the older version on Deviantart and FIMFiction.

The older version lives on only as text documents on my hard drive.

The revised version features an easier-to-understand, canon Ditzy as well as various grammar and spelling fixes.

It undoubtedly also contains copying errors and etc. that I must hunt down. Oh well.

I had a bit of a life dip. Suffice it to say, I am no longer going to college at the UC Santa Barbara.

Hey all,
So it's all here and uploaded, shortly before midnight Sunday. Boom. It is a whopper, just two words shy of 5,000. It's a bit more relaxed than some of the other chapters, a deeper look into the memory.

Now, I obviously haven't looked it over as many times as the previous parts, so it may be a little bit rougher.

So I was all set on letting EQD pass me by, when Derpgate happened. No need to reiterate that: I've written about it and my position on it before.
