Hey All,
So spring break is over, and it's been a whole month since I've written any journals or anything.
I had a bit of a life dip. Suffice it to say, I am no longer going to college at the UC Santa Barbara.
Nothing bad happened: I wasn't expelled or anything, just changing direction, looking at other things, other careers.
Anyway, work on getting the series official-ready has not stopped. I'm still not quite sure as to what wrong with the POV, but I'm trying to shift things around so the story changes perspectives less frequently, at least. Hoping to get some aid on that from a Ponychan reader later.
I've got Ditzy's dialogue changed, for the most part. SOOO many revisions and re-revisions. It's hard to get her dialogue to be grammatically correct but still fit the character.
I've read the parts, I've read them out loud, now I'm finally putting them in a speech program and having them read to me. It really helps me find the little things my eyes don't catch (Sptifire instead of Spitfire).
It is my personal opinion that no matter what I do to fix my work, there is always something I didn't catch. So the more checks I make, the better.
NOTE: All my changes have NOT yet been posted on my Deviant page or on FIMfiction. I've kept them isolated in Google Docs until I feel comfortable that they are ready. I WILL post another journal when I apply these changes to the published works.
Anyway, once I have these last changes and checks done, I submit my humble work to a Ponychan reader, finalize the POV issues, then it's back to the EQD pre-readers!
For those of you wondering, still no ETA on part six.
P.S: DeviantArt+FIMFiction: Over 2,500 reads. Y'all make me smile. Guess I'm doing something right.
