Where I been?+Second Thoughts · 9:48am May 19th, 2012
Hey all,
So I've gotten a few messages, both on DeviantART and FIMFiction, which can be boiled down into two basic categories:
1) Where you go?
2) Why you no update?
Well, honestly, I hit a lethargy wave and just rode that bi**h like a surfer. Though it took a bit longer than I'd hoped to find someone to review D&S, once they did, it was rapidly and quite thoroughly reviewed, with many helpful comments (much thanks, Pav Feira).
I feel like since I left UCSB, I just haven't been doing as much, writing wise, as I used to. Maybe I just slacked away from editing. It seems to take longer every time I go through and review the parts.
Well, whatever the cause, I'm ending it. Middle of the year resolution or whatever, but it has to stop.
As of now, the grammar and wording issues are all but finished, and are reflected in the published parts. I still need to address the POV issues, which take a bit more thought, but I will have the corrections finished by Wednesday. Swear and promise, guys.
After that... after that, I guess I send it back to EQD. Wow.
In other news, a select 42 of you may remember the aborted Moonlies experiment. While I am not restarting it, I have again been struck by a spark of inspiration, with an idea for a new story. Don't worry: I've knocked out an outline for it, and it has none of the problems Moonlies has. It's a bit different stylistically, but...it's good. It's really, really good.
On the one hand, I don't want to take time away from D&S, but on the other hand, the new story is likely to be relatively short, and I am anxious to get the idea out before someone else thinks of it. If that makes me selfish, vain, or whatever, I don't care. It's true.
I plan on posting at least the intro to this new story, tentatively titled Second Thoughts, while D&S is in the EQD submission process. I doubt it'll be a one-shot, but it should be only two or three parts, max.
Of course, I have a habit of expanding stories' lengths...
We'll see.
Thanks for all your patience, guys.
