You know, it's not that I enjoy procrastinating, but it is more or less my natural state. It got in the way while writing my previous chapter, and it certainly gets in the way now.
Hey everyone! As you might know if you ever read these blog posts, I recently sent Dude, We're Ponies to Equestria Daily. It was pretty nerve-wrecking, awaiting judgement at the hands of an actual critic, but thankfully, one of the pre-readers was so kind to pick it up. I got the response this morning.
In summary, the pre-reader said said that the story was solid and quite fun, despite some roughness in the early chapters, and that he'll be recommending this for the posting queue.
Eeesh, finally some good news. Chapter 4 of Dude, We're Ponies is now up and running. Had some fun writing this one. Bit low on jokes, but at least there seems to be some plot happening. Can't have too much plot.
Thank you, everyone that offered to pre-read. I couldn't accept all of you right now, but I'll be more then happy to accept your help in the future.
I hope that you enjoy this chapter, and will continue to support Dude, We're Ponies in the future.
Why hello everypony. It is I, the great procrastinator. I wanted to have a chapter up last Tuesday, but what can I say? Stuff happens.
Anyhow, a big part of the delay came from the side of my pre-reader, who is currently dealing with all kinds of bad stuff in his life. In order to give him some breathing space, I am now looking for a new pre-reader.
Well, pre-ED-submission clean-up of Dude, We're Ponies is going okayishly well so far. Thank you MrMusicalPony for being such a bro prereader. Grammar should be properly fixed by now, so the only thing that could really be improved would be the lack of action during dialogue-heavy scenes.
After a long week of wrestling with plots, I saw fit to buy myself a new Discworld book. People that have been reading Dude, We're Ponies commented that I had a very similar writing style. But after turning a few pages, I can only conclude that what I'm doing is nothing but a terribly vague imitation, which pales in comparison with the real deal.
Let me put one thing first: I am not happy with the second chapter of Dude, We're Ponies. At all.
I always thought that the first chapter was the hard part. That you only need to get a good premise in place and that the plot would logically follow from it. Oh, boy, was I wrong. Chapter one was the easy part.
