Meh, this might have been good as an intro to a longer Gilda redemption fic, but as a one shot, it felt contrived. I didn't expect you to have poured your heart and soul into this, but still, a few hours extra to get down and show Gilda feeling absolutely torn between fear of rejection and desire to apologize would have brought this fic a long way. As it is it feels like there is no real conflict to the story, and it progresses too fast to elicit feelings of sadness in the reader.
I know how much you hate it when people dislike without giving a reason. And here it is. Tear me apart as you see fit, I'm an unfeatured author, but after having thought about it. I really couldn't honestly see this as being deemed a cream of the crop story that should go there.
Out of curiosity, were you inspired by this artpiece?

As I said, this was just a 'cheer me up' story. Nothing more. I didn't put that much effort in it as I should have, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me to make it an incredibly long story. I just wanted to help myself feel better about life. This was a good way of doing so.
