Rainbow dash never believed there was anything faster than after hitting a sonic Rainboom. That was, until she received an invitation to join the Extreme Gravity Racing Association.
Not one to back down from a challenge, she accepts and finds herself whisked away to strange new worlds. Not only that, but she'll gain new friends and butt heads with new rivals as the tournament goes on. However, this isn't any normal race, and she'll begin to understand that her very life may be on the line.
Because in the XGRA: a contact is just a contract.

I noticed one thing wrong here (besides recent science proving humans can indeed survive Mach 1 speeds in freefall). You put SUBsonic (beneath the speed of sound) where the context indicated a breaking of the sound barrier (SUPERsonic, or ABOVE sound). Not a huge mistake, but Dash has been proven via a brony with WAY too much time on his hands to be able to reach Mach 10 during sonic rainbooms, which occur at around Mach 5 (Don't shoot the guy who has too much time to watch youtube >.>)
Other than that, this has to keep going. XGRA was my favorite game outside of the Pokemon franchise, bar none. Add ponies and it can only get better (though Dash better get some weapons or this'd be a short race >.>)

1654223 Well. speed of sound varies at different altitudes, higher up it's higher, closer to the ground, 750 sounds about right.
XGRA if I remember they're in a pressurized environment (except that one map that irked me where they were in space) and they went supersonic at a fairly consistent 750/800 range (which works out to about 1 atm pressure).

In my headcannon, Equestria has a 'Magic Barrier', like the sound barrier and light barrier, the magic barrier is the speed limit for magical spells and magic-aided flight. So breaking the magic barrier requires a large magical capacity and intense wing strength (Rainbow Dash). Also it keeps ponies from becoming too OP.
Also, when you break the magic barrier, there is a large discharge of magic in it's most basic form (Visible light and sound) like a sonic boom, but it's a mana burst.
But that's just my silly old headcannon, Mach 1 works fine for me. (Or maybe the magic barrier IS at mach 1.
)

Just seeing that somebody went out and at least started an XGRA crossover fic made my week. Only found out about it because the cover art was featured on EqD and I dropped everything I was doing to investigate.
Anyway, Rainbow sure did a good job of deflecting team Templar over to Katerina—I bet those super-bike-wielding white knights would've been all over her if she weren't so darned nice. Maybe Manta or Vixen would take the pony—they're both pretty much racing teams with little combat focus. The relative suck of the plasma bolts only reinforces that.
I have never heard of the game this story's based off before tonight, but it looks interesting.

If the story will go as I think it will there will be three questions:
1. Who will side with Rainbow, especially who of the other riders will be on her side.
2. Will Rainbow be bold enough to use the Overlord, or will she even get her hooves on an old hypercycle-railgun.
3. Will she be fast enough to outpace the Deathstrike targetting systems.
Hmm. I was expecting Ponies to have a different language. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter too much.

This I was not expecting XGRA with MLP. I'm not complaining far from it. I freaking love XGRA! The bikes, course design and of course the soundtrack BT and Celldweller = Awesome!
