We all know about Spike, dragon assistant to Twilight Sparkle. But what we never saw got to know about was Spike, a pony conclier assigned to Twilight Sparkle. Confusing yes? Turns out, there's an alternative universe to Equestria called Brimstone, and in this world, everything we thought we knew about our favorite ponies had some strange...counterparts.

And now, these two Spikes will find out just how similar yet different their worlds really are. And maybe, there might become a reason for their switch to remain permanent.

Looks like I'm keeping the isekia'd Spike train rolling. Seriously, there's been a trend of MLP:FiM's Spike being isekia'd into all sorts of things. But I doubt anyone's thought to isekia Spike into an alternate version of Equestria known as Brimstone.

Yeah the tags are basically spelling out what the heck you can expect. I shouldn't even try to hide my plans for this side project. So I won't bother. Just look at the tags and tell me what you think I have planned. Because I've officially gone mega crazy creative mode with how I'm tackling this.

Pray for Spike the Dragon's sanity; because it might not last long. Also, the teen rating is just to be absolutely safe, even if "kissing" isn't a mature warning tag. I...consider the act of kissing to at least be something that not everyone and their dog should be allowed to read.

As a side note, I couldn't find an outright pic of a Pony version of Spike & the dragon version of Spike we all know and love in one picture. So, I opted for the current picture instead. If someone out there wants to make a picture of Pony Spike & Dragon Spike in the same picture, or if someone finds on, link me to what you made/found, and I replace the current cover.

I may end up just keeping this one around for a sequel, as this is only meant as a prequel story to a much bigger side project.

REALLY good detail on the world of "Brimstone" - especially the details of the three Dragon Types (Magic, Water and Sky) as well as Dragon Celestia being Lord Torch's widow and Smolder's mother (guess that means Ember is actually Garble's sister in this universe), how they found out about Pony Spike (a unicorn) AND how Dragon Twilight's magic surge was worked in to this Brimstone.

Well, on to the next chapter.

Again, the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all well done. Judging by the fact the Golden Oaks Library is still standing, I'm going to guess that the canon cut-off point is sometime in Season Four (AFTER Twilight ascended but BEFORE Tirek struck). Anyway, Pony Spike accidentally causing the switch between himself and his dragon counterpart with his magic makes a fair bit of sense and I appreciate how Pony Spike was able to figure out certain details about the ponies from his experience with their dragon counterparts. The foreshadowing when they were discussing crushes makes sense too.

VERY MUCH looking forward to more of this, as usual.

I wanted the detail to feel similar yet different to standard Equestria. I certainly wanted the fact that until Brimstone's Spike, not a single pony from that universe had ever been born as what Equestria would call a Unicorn. In Brimstone, there is no tribal divide between Earth Ponies & Pegasi as they aren't called that. They are lumped together as being a Pony race rather then two separate races.

The cut-off point is actually much earlier then that. Try right after the first episode of the entire MLP:FiM show.

Gotcha. Thanks for the information clarification.

Honestly, seems like this switch was a good thing.

Both Spikes are now in worlds where they don't have to worry about not fitting in, can find love, and more.

Again, a really good job on the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up in this latest chapter. REALLY appreciated the reaction the Dragons had to Dragon Spike's arrival as well as Dragon Celestia's chat with Smolder (and I think Composite Dragon is probably the best I can think of for the Dragon counterparts to Alicorns since they ARE composites of ALL THREE of the main Dragon types). The sense of smell being able to tell the difference between a pony turned into a dragon and a dragon who has been living among ponies was an excellent touch. And, yeah, reading the disclaimer on the swapping spell is too little too late, but that's the way things go.

VERY MUCH looking forward to more of this.

No. As Rob already said, each Spike is only going to get one love interest (that seems like minimal spoilers). However, also while keeping spoilers to a minimum, it is still possible that other non-Spike ships could still be worked in eventually at least in passing mention (note: "possible", not "definite").

Well I will neither confirm nor deny this comment. Because to answer that goes beyond the scope of a random side project.

Twilight just groaned. "...This spell is going to be a one-time deal isn't it?" She asked. "Of all the ponies, dragons, or whatever else in both our realities, did you have to be the one that wanted to cast this spell?"

Like I said before, I think this change will end up good for both Spikes.

As for the dragon naming thing, what about Ethernal Dragons?

It means, "lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning."

For the dragon race name I have found something on a d&d site:

Starforgers are celestial dragons that have lived for eons. Starforgers attack with small stars and a few spells, instead of swords and shields.

Hey there. Thanks very much for getting this next chapter up. REALLY liked the effort going into the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up. The chat between Rainbow and Twilight was wonderfully done and Sweetie's confusion about this Spike's misunderstanding of Cutie Marks makes sense (he wouldn't know what a Cutie Mark is because, until now, he lived among dragons, who couldn't get Cutie Marks. And, yeah, it's pretty safe to say both Spikes are stuck, but that's not necessarily going to be a bad thing once they get used to things.

And, yeah, either Ethernal or Starforger sound a lot better than I could come up with.

Anyway, really looking forward to more of this.

As for the 'dragon alicorn', 'star dragon' is simple or a stellar variation ... or even 'Draconis' for simplicity ...

Wait... so after the next Equestria chapter and the Epilouge, no more Equestria, as Brimstone will be the focus of whatever you are alluding to in the author's note?

Just making sure I understand.

Hey there. Thanks again for the work on the dialogue, characterizations and future chapter set-up. The chats between Rainbow and Twilight concerning the possibility of peace with the ponies (and, considering this Spike HAS been living among ponies for over a decade, he could still be a big help with those plans, even if the dragons don't know it yet) and how that is (at least presently) extremely unlikely at best. Also liked how Spike stuck up for Smolder concerning Garble (especially how Garble got scared off).

So just two more chapters (addressing the realization that the switch between the two Spikes is permanent) plus the epilogue. That's cool. Then the entire sequel series will be focused completely on Brimstone (probably because Pony Spike would only cause extremely minimal changes to Equestria [with the exceptions of episodes dealing with dragons as his experience WITH dragons would probably be big helps there]).

Anyway, really looking forward to the last few chapters of this.

'Nova dragon' - not bad in some sense though novas are stellar pop guns (anyone remember cap guns) that leave red drawfs in their wake, that are long-lived with reduced power rather than long-lived with increased power (in terms of output) ...

REALLY good work on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up the second-to-last chapter of this story. So, the Crusaders' dragon counterparts already know each other in Brimstone (well, their pony counterparts met during Nightmare Moon's return, but didn't become friends until months later) and I also liked the reason Dragon Diamond is MUCH nicer than her pony counterpart was at this time is because bullying is punishable by curses. And the stuff about Nova Dragons having longer lives than other dragons, but not to the point of being immortal (but, still, given the combined lifespans of all three of the main Dragon types [and given that dragons have lifespans of more than 1000 years], that still translates to Nova Dragons having a minimum lifespan of more than 3000 years - extremely long, but not eternal) is a good piece of information (as well as the acknowledgement that Twilight will eventually become a Nova Dragon herself). The stuff from the dragons finding out Spike helped fend off Garble and the detail of Garble being a former Dragon Knight fired for misconduct were also great (hopefully Garble's sister Ember is a lot better at behaving herself) as was Spike acknowledging that both he AND the Dragons of Brimstone have things to learn from each other.

Anyway, looking forward to the last chapter.

Can't believe I missed this chapter. But anyway, really good job on the dialogue, characterizations, additional information and epilogue set-up in this. Glad Scootaloo and Sweetie helped Spike clear up that "Cutie Mark" confusion" as well as Spike getting more detail on what happened to Diamond Tiara's mother after the "curse" stuff. Glad Spike was able to modify that so that, the nicer Diamond was, the more likely it would be that her mother would eventually recover from her coma.

On to the epilogue.

REALLY loved the detail on the changes to Equestria concerning Spike's increased involvement and how the differences between the two Spikes making such significant differences in the events. ESPECIALLY the nods to the comics concerning Sombra.

REALLY looking forward to the sequel story.

You know I was thinking of creating a series of stories set in a alternative timeline. Or more like a remake of the mlp history. More mature with a creative storyline. Want to discuss further in private?

11820840
As much as I'd be interested in that, what I'm doing is not that.

11820841
You responded pretty quickly.
So not interested in my idea then?

11820843
Mostly because what I'm doing with the sequel story isn't some "alternate history" of MLP:FiM. It's a fully different universe known as "My Little Dragon".

...The less said about when Twilight became an Alicorn the better. Trust me on that one. It led to some very awkward moments in the human version of Equestria. Very, very awkward moments. Moments better left unsaid then actually said. Trust me, your minds would not comprehend what happened.

Okay, now I do wanna know about the Alicorn Transformation and Human world stuff, lol

Also, what happened with Discord? Celestia returning letters thru Spike was key there, so how did it happen here?

Fyi, before you ask about why there's suddenly a deleted comment message on your feed somehow, it's because you essentially sent the same comment twice just with different words and I didn't notice until now.
