Wow I never really thought about how every little thing the princesses do might be taken the wrong way. I can't imagine how horrible that must be. Having to be in totally control of your emotions and behavior all the time, so that others don't misinterpret the situation.

The woman is at least 1,010 years old. And an immortal sovereign. Not only can she get away with being naked in public with her physical and societal power alone.
In our world, a thousand years ago, naked adults carrying their clothes with them to the nearest public bath in places like France, and the Northern Italian peninsula were familiar as both areas in Europe bathed at least once every two weeks.
So even if she is naked to avoid playing favorites, she is also naked because nudity wasn't that taboo when she was young. The ancient woman just refused to change her mindset on it.

Much funnier is that Luna was gone for even closer to a thousand years, which according to Wikipedia means that her speech patterns in her debut episode should have been roughly twice as archaic as they actually were. Hello! Have a review. Certainly an original idea, and props for that. Not sure why it doesn't have the [Anthro] tag, admittedly. Didn't quite click for me, but I'll admit anthro has always been a tough sell.

The truly determined would attempt to read something into the order in which Luna outfits are displayed. There would be constant debate as to whether “First gets preference” or “Saving the best for last” applies, but that just means that whichever are in the middle are clearly inferior, unless somepony really pushers for a bell-curve interpretation…
