A man ends up in an Equestria where humans are a common occurrence. Slightly subdued shenanigans ensue.

This is a parody/homage to a very popular story and others that have followed in its footsteps. This particular fic is a bit old and had been forgotten in one of my folders until now. Not released initially due to not being good enough, I spruced it up enough so that now it is.

So is this just like a comical riff on the popular story? Like a non insulting joke version?

Pretty much yeah.

I couldn't get past the initial stumbling blocks with YHaY. Some of the other stuff you're thumbing your nose at... Yikes. :twilightoops:

Man the mount of yhay stories that I’ve seen that are never completed really bothers me

10553423
Eh? I didn't think my story was that offensive, just having a little fun.

10553438
Yeah, it seems like everyone's first story is some rip off of a yhay basic plot. Not like that's a bad thing mind you but even the good ones seem to peter out once they realize that they are walking the same path dozens of others have.

10553450
Oh, that wasn't directed at your story, just the implications about elements of its inspiration.

10553452
Oh yeah, that was very purposeful.

10553451
And it upsets me greatly cause even tho they were all similar most of them were actually good

This kinda gave me a Planet of the apes vibe, but with ponies and the total lack of cruel experimentation.

Yup. Any human with an apendage and a patch of dirt could prove their sapience.

Though I must express my extreme disappointment, good Jest, that we never got to see Celestia's incapability to not help in its fullest form.

"Oh you came from one of those worlds!" Celestia exclaimed, a smile still present on her resplendant features. "I know how to get you back there. It will just take a moment to find the right mirror."

"I must say despite what everyone has told me of you I didnt expect you to go so far," I remarked before sipping my tea.

"Nonesense dear," Celestia replied. "I just have to ask you a few questions first before I can get you where you want to go."

"Of course," I replied. "Go right ahead."

"Would you describe the dominant society of your world as a dystopian?" Celestia inquired, shifting uncomfortably on her pillow. "I know thats not the most polite term."

"I would say yes? But it's not like we have been invaded by aliens but rather people are just generally greedy and well, rather shitty," I deadpanned, frowning. "Sorry if that doesnt help."

"No no, that happens plenty of times," Celestia remarked. "Are you sure you want to go back there?"

I nodded solemnly. "It isnt the best, but I have a family there. A girlfriend, brothers and sisters. I can't just leave them."

"Fair enough, but know that you may return whenever you like," Celestia offered gracefully.

"Thats... nice," I muttered, tapping my chin. "Maybe me and my girlfreind could come back for a vacation or something. She'd freak if she saw this place."

"I'd like that," I murmured.

"Regardless, I think I know your world," Celestia proclaimed, rising from her seat. "If your ready its room three oh four down the hall. The guard will let you in."

I smiled. "Thank you. That means alot."

Lovely little parody/satire.
Really entertaining, even though I haven't read the fic it is based on.

All you need to know is that the story I'm satarizing makes the main character mute while also putting them on a world where humans have the same intellect as monkeys and the MC is a bog-standard human. They then have to endure an increasingly ridiculous series of shinanigans wherein their intelligence is either ignored or glossed over while at the same time maneuvering their way through a much darker Equestria.

I would recommend you a few decent ones, but they are either on hiatus, canceled or went off the deep end quality-wise. Really Your Human and You is the best peice of fiction though it drags on and on, while suffering from pacing issues.

Oh dear lord. That's hilarious!

:moustache: :moustache: :moustache: :moustache: :trollestia:

Made me laugh. Well done. Have a like, good sir.

door 304 , not earth 316? :raritywink:

Shots fired. Hilarious well placed shots fired.

That was hilarious, needs more likes.

Yeah that pretty much sums up the YHAY story that started it all. It tends to drag on a lot and suffers from pacing issues etc. It's the same with a lot of Displaced stories, where they start out strong, realise they're following similar paths to their predecessors, freak and discontinue their stories or go off the deep end. I know how easy that is to do as well, since it happened with my own Fallout Equestria tale years ago. Well that was more losing interest in it, I think.

I still haven't finished your human and you and I doubt I ever will. It just drags on and on without anything really happening or finding any overarching plot. I'm sure it happens eventually but I've already read an entire novel or two's worth of chapters and haven't found it yet.

As for the other yhah they have all quit or descended into such madness as to become self parody.

Did you know that "Your Human and You" has a sequel? It's "Your Family and You" at https://www.fimfiction.net/story/445461/your-family-and-you . It's up to 28 chapters.

10660657
Like I said. I doubt I'll ever finish it. The thing is just a million pages long and absolutely without substance. The addition of a sequel doesnt make it any less boring.

Yeah, this is how I'd expect a Your Human and You situation to go down.

Even if the consequences of our meeting were somewhat less than pleasant.

Consequences to circumstances.

This is a good satire of if the "Your Human and You" wasn't affected by Discords' magic, and was dropped in the Everfree and not a desert.

The unicorn rolled his eyes. “He obviously understands our language, meaning he likely has the same written language as ours.”

“Of course! Quite astute mister Gold Standard sir!” The earth pony replied.

The unicorn chuckled. “It's a simple leap of logical understanding, I’m sure you would have made it if I gave you another second to think of it.”

I tapped the table, displaying what I had written.

My name is James T Worthington. I am not from your world, and desperately wish to return home. My jaunt through realities seems to have left me unable to speak.

The ponies looked on at what I written uncomprehendingly.

"Drat!" declared Gold Standard, "It seems we use a different written language and cannot communicate on paper. Luckily, I can teach you hoof language."

Mister Long turned to Gold Standard and queried, "And that will let everypony talk to this human?"

"Absolutely not! I happen to be one of only ten ponies in the entire world who seem to know this language. Why, we could walk through town speaking in hoof language every day for months and nopony would even catch on that we were speaking, much less understand what we were saying! It would be like our own secret language that we could discuss absolutely anything in with absolute certainty that nopony else would ever catch on!"

Mister Long's face lit up in glee. "That sounds astonishingly convenient!"

"Indeed," Gold Standard replied, winking into the camera.

This one beats out every other story where a human ends up in Equestria in a major way. It actually gets to the point, and our character isn't so bad as to require brain bleach because they're so badly written.

Me like story. Is great beginning. You for to be writing more now please?

11466931

In all honesty I enjoyed it. Don't sweat the length or my comments. The internet make'a me a mean meme-maker.
