Pinkie Pie loves her friends.

She's very good at showing this, too.

Even if it seems like there's nothing anypony can do—least of all her—she'll be there for you.

Looking forward to this one!

Wow. I, uhh, need to go think about some stuff now. Thanks for this.

A touching and heartfelt piece. And a worthy tribute to the memory.

Bravo.

I liked the plant metaphors. Fluttershy being into gardening makes sense, and I like the reference to Bonbon buying a cactus that one time. I also like how the details of the loss are unspoken; all the readers need to know is that it happened. (Although, why is Lyra tagged if her presence is only implied?) You also nailed Pinkie’s characterisation: she’s not just lolrandom, but the most empathetic member of the Mane 6.

We preread this?

Well, if you say so.

i have ur comments on the original doc to prove it

lyra is tagged just to help solidify the implication in the story

Man, I was just thinking as I finished reading it, that it would be trippy if it was tagged Lyra because her absence in the story is as sharp and aching as a Lyra-shaped hole cut out of the world. And then I looked at the tags. And went goddamn.

Thanks for this, Regi. I miss him.

And some friends are like moss, where they show up whenever it rains and they’re always there for you growing on a rock. Only one of my friends is very specifically moss, but she’s still my friend so she counts.

Pinkie would befriend a lichen.

This was sweet, Reg.

Haven't read this yet, but just wanted to say congrats on the feature! Will comment again when I read it.

was waiting for candy but now i'm sad

Sublime. Rest in peace, Coffee.

Man, this is one heck of a heartstring tugger. The writing, the circumstances, just everything matched up very well! Goodness, this is fantastic work! I hope ya didn't mind, but I made a lil' reading of this fic of yours!
Also, my condolences for the loss of CoffeeBean.

(I don't mean to offend anyone with this comment in any way!)

How do you comment on a sad story? I'm sad because of the story but It's also really good and makes me happy to have so many talented writers on the site. Fantastic introspection on Pinkie, and of loss. Thank you for it

EDIT: My condolences

I don't know what to say, so I'll just say. My sincerest condolences. The loss of a friend is a black stain on the tapestry of life.

I don't think that this is a view of grief I understand particularly well, at least not by the second half. Nevertheless, I did enjoy this, it just ended up being more for showing a piece of you and a philosophy I probably would have had a hard time understanding if it was articulated without that personal element.

I suppose that Toffee is the natural, complementary piece of Full Circle. They have the same heart.

Really enjoyed this. Short and sweet, but tough and brittle... like a toffee. And that's what life is, isn't it? It's certainly what grief can be.

Excellent work on this story. A very loving, worthy tribute.

Played Celeste together the day before. Cracked some jokes, went to read a thing, messaged him two hours later, no response.

It’s horrible to think about how casual that was.

“Huh, he must be busy.”

I'm so sorry, Regi. It's always a shame when we lose one of our own, but it's most especially tough on those that were closest to them. I may not have known CoffeeBean, but may he rest in peace. My condolences to you, and his family and friends.
