Celestia. Thank you.

Canterlot. Afternoon.

It's been 6 hours since Passion's sudden power surges throughout the day. The damage she's caused was already enough. And if she continues to have sudden surges once more, who knows what she could do next. So for the meantime, she was kept contained inside a cube that restrained her magic.

"Kirlia..." The Emotion Pokemon sat down in the cube, holding her knees. It was for her own good, unfortunately. It would ensure the safety of Equestria at the end of the day. She was thinking about all the damage she managed to cause in the span of those few hours earlier and feared what could've happened if she hadn't fainted at the last second.

Celestia wasn't a fan of this either. Which is why she was currently doing her very best to find a solution to this. Passion's condition has magic relations. So maybe, there's a spell somewhere that can fix this. She was at Canterlot Library, shuffling through every book that was there, seeing if Starswirl or anypony else had a book that was perfect for a situation like this.

"There has to be something..." Celestia sat down with books surrounded around her. The more she searched the more she was stressing herself out. The ponies of Canterlot watched as they saw their princess currently in a state of struggle and worry. Something they had never seen before. "No...that's not it." Celestia sighed, tossing aside a book. At this rate, she could be at this for hours. The ponies figured that it would be best to leave Celestia to it. Probably wasn't a good idea to keep on watching her while she's in that state.

Luna had entered the library, seeing her big sister go through this endeavour. So, being her little sister, it was her job to support her big sister through her hard times. Even if she didn't have a clue on how to solve this as well.

"Um. Sister." Luna went up to Celestia.

"Not now, Luna." Celestia replied.

"Oh. Sorry. I was just hoping that I could assist you."

"I wish you could, Luna but...I've made zero progress so far. Nothing here is proving to be of any help. I'm not sure that Starswirl or anypony prepared for something like this..." She groaned.

"Well...maybe you could obtain some answers with your Boundless Cutie Mark? If it has an infinite array of marks, then perhaps there might be something there that could assist. If you can find it that is."

"...Maybe. But I'm not sure this Boundless Cutie Mark will change much. At this point...I don't know what will." She lowered her head, planting her face in the pile of books she gathered. "What to do...What to do..."

"Oh, sister. I hate seeing you in such a state." Luna held her big sister up. "Maybe you should get some rest of your own."

"I can't rest, Luna. I have to find a solution to this. Or else Passion could suffer even further, causing destruction and mishaps across Equestria."

"I understand but...Perhaps stressing yourself out isn't helping the situation. If you're struggling this much without any progress, then maybe it would be best to slow down. For your own sake."

"I know that, but this is for Passion's sake. So I can't afford to slow down." Celestia was sticking with her choice to continue searching, even if it could potentially be bad for her health. There was no talking her out of it.

"Alright. I'll leave you to it." Luna exited the library, seeing her sister resume her hard work. Once Luna was outside, she took a moment to realise how much work Celestia has put in throughout the years. After Celestia banished Nightmare Moon for the first time, she's had to watch over Equestria on her own whilst raising and lowering the sun and the moon at the exact same time. Even when Luna returned, things didn't get any better from thereon. The royal wedding, the Everfree Forest attacking, Ghetsis, Tirek, all of those were situations she couldn't overcome. Despite all of this, she gave it all her best effort, reminding everypony as to why she's the ruler of Equestria. Even if Luna couldn't help her, she could at least do something to ease her. So she hatched a plan.

Ponyville, hours after the sudden incident.

There was a long cleanup process currently ongoing in Ponyvlle. Passion's magic really did a number on it despite the distance. But this cleanup wasn't just picking up rubble or rearranging things. Not at all. Passion managed to rip the ground itself apart. So there were cracks here and there with gaping holes. That's going to be a much more difficult task than just sweeping. But with Pokemon on their side, the difficulty can be lowered.

Big Mac's Machamp was proving to be the most efficient helper. With his overwhelming strength had four arms, he was able to flip over the buildings that were topped back to their original position. He even placed the trees back in their original spots.

"Great job, Machamp." said Applejack.

"Machamp!"

"So yeah. Now you know." Pinkie Pie was speaking to both Ash and Goh who had just arrived to see the current state of Ponyville.

"A small little Kirlia did this?" Goh couldn't believe it.

"Hmm...Sounds like a real issue huh. But if Celestia believes she can handle it then its should go well." Ash nodded.

"Pikachu."

"Well, yeah the ruler of Equestria for a reason, duh!" Pinkie giggled grabbing Ash's face moving it about. "But, Twilight's a bit worried."

"Of course I'm worried! More than a bit!" Twilight rushed over, grabbing Pinkie's face. "Most of the time problems such as these only come up when there's somepony evil involved. This is one of us! Celestia's Pokemon! And she doesn't have any control of her own power! There's a lot of reasons to be worried!"

"I am on the same boat as you, Twilight Sparkle," spoke Luna who had arrived at Ponyville for actions regarding her big sister.

"Princess Luna?" Twilight turned to her. "Did something else happen at Canterlot?"

"No. Nothing yet. I came here because...I am planning a party."

"I'm already on it!" Pinkie poked her head between both Twilight and Luna. "What kind are we talking about? Birthday? Surprise? Oh! Did you find a very special some-pony?!"

"None of those. It is a 'Thank you Party'. Similar to what happened with you, Ash Ketchum."

"Oh! Who are we thanking for all the hard work?" Ash asked.

"Pika?"

"For my sister."

"A 'Thank you Party' for Princess Celestia? That's never been done before!" Pinkie just realized this is a brand new discovery in Equestria history.

"For all the hard work that she's done for us. Noticing this has made me realize that my sister goes through a plethora of struggles in her daily life. It doesn't help that I was the cause of some of those struggles. I wish to fix all of that by throwing her the best party imaginable."

"That touched my heart." Pinkie wiped her tears with Jade's tail, blowing her nose on it as well. "Alright! I won't let you down, Princess Luna!"

"I know you won't, Pinkie Pie. And I can already tell that nopony else will. You all truly love my sister after all."

"Of course. We'll give it more than 100%. Right, Goh?" Ash put his arm around Goh.

"Pika-Pikachu?"

"Huh? Me too? Well uh...I don't know much about her...but if it's for a good cause I'll pitch in." Goh replied.

"Thank you all so much. From the bottom of my heart. But I can guarantee that my sister will thank you even more."

"Not a problem, Princess Luna. Pinkie Pie. Repairs will have to wait. Get to planning that party." Twilight commanded.

"Will do, can do!" Pinkie saluted as she rushed off into SugarCube Corner to set everything up.

"Ash. I can already count on you, Rainbow Dash, Hollow and Pikachu to do all the flashy stuff, right?"

"Mhm! We'll be sure to put on a show! I'll get most of my Pokemon too!"

"Pikachu!"

"Good. Like you said. Let's give it more than 100%."

The party planning was set in motion. Unbeknownst to Celestia, Luna had involved everypony in Canterlot and Ponyville. It's been a long time coming, but Celestia deserves this. Even Pyrestar was involved. Which was a perfect pick actually, since she's half Celestia, Pinkie can know what her preferences are.

Celestia in the meanwhile was still giving it everything she had to save her Pokemon. She managed to overexert herself in that timespan, causing the Sun Princess to actually fall asleep from exhaustion, laying on the books. The librarian of Canterlot Library quietly walked out, also being informed about this party.

"Sssh. Sleep tight, Princess. Come on Chatot. Let her rest" said the Librarian.

"Let her rest." Chatot repeated but with silence behind its voice.

She closed the door gently, leaving Celestia to rest.

"Alright, everyone. Gather around." Ash huddled the Pokemon he over at Oaks Lab towards him. "We have to make sure that we pull off something awesome for Celestia, okay? So let's take a page out of Dawn's book and dazzle them."

"Infernape!"

"Donphan!"

"Hawlu!" All of Ash's Pokemon agreed.

"I didn't take you to be the party planning type Ash," Delia said as she and Oak walked up to him.

"I learned a lot from all the friends I've been with over the years, ya know. Sort of picked up some new skills along the way."

"Pikachu."

"Is there anything I can do to help? You know on your third birthday, your father and I threw a party that the entire would be proud of. Then again, they were all there."

"Sure, mom! You can pitch in with what you got." Ash replied. "What about your, Professor Oak?"

"Me? Sorry Ash, my boy. I'll have to sit out for this one Not exactly an expert at parties."

"That's fine. Alright, everyone! Let's get this going!" Ash exclaimed as all of his Pokemon cheered.

Hollow had arrived at Canterlot, stepping on some leftover rubble from the destruction Passion caused. He noticed that everypony was keeping the volume to a minimum. Don't wanna wake Celestia up and ruin the surprise.

"Hollow. Glad that you managed to make it here." Luna flew to him. "I assume that you have a good selection of Pokemon to pull off dazzling tricks."

"Well, actually I brought my wife's Pokemon instead of my own since they're more experienced in this sort of stuff."

"That'll do. Hurry. Everypony will be arriving at Canterlot soon. There is no time to waste."

"Sure. But what happened here? What caused this?"

"An issue with Celestia's Kirlia. No time to explain." Luna dragged Hollow along with her magic.

Shining Armor and Cadence had shown up to Canterlot as well, deciding to leave the Crystal Empire for a bit. Celestia was an aunt to Cadence and she was a mother figure to Twilight, so that makes her great in both Cadence and Shining Armor's books.

"Is she still asleep?" Shining Armor asked a guard as he nodded in response. "Good. Made it in time."

"Hope auntie likes it. Who am I kidding? It's cake. Of course, she will." Cadence had behind her a cake wrapped up in a gift to hide it. But the shape was recognizable as cake. And some of the vanilla from it was dripping through the gift ribbon.

Whilst all of this was going down, both Celestia and Passion were completely immobile. One from over-exhaustion and the other from over-exertion. Even when they were far apart, they were both in perfect sync. Showing just how much a trainer and their Pokemon have in common. Passion decided to send herself to sleep without the use of Darkrai's Dark Void. Now she and Celestia had something in common even more.

Hours have passed. Enough time for Celestia to finally wake up. When had awoken, she gasped, falling over the books as they landed on her head. Her sleep was long that her regalia managed to fall off her somehow. She groaned, rubbing her eyes as she felt somewhat refreshed. Celestia still remembered what she was up to earlier. Figuring out a way to save Passion.

"...Fell asleep." Celestia yawned. She looked around to see that the lights had been turned off in the library with nopony present whatsoever. Leaving her completely alone. And thanks to it being winter with snow, the skies were a bit darker now but it was still pretty bright. "And I'm alone too..." She sighed.

Dead silence on the inside and even outside of Canterlot. Nopony was there. Not a single sight or sound of one. There wasn't even any Pokemon at all. Which is odd considering how common they are.

"None of these books are doing me any good. There's nothing to help." Celestia shoved the pile of books aside as she lowered her head. "I wish mother was still here. She'd probably know what to do." The sun princess stood up, moving towards the outdoors. She actually ended up forgetting her regalia as it was just laying about on the carpet floor.

Once she exited the library, she could feel and hear the snow and wind blowing her direction. Snow-covered the ceilings, windows and every nook and cranny of Canterlot. Some even got in the fountain and indoors. The soft slushy powder of snow could be felt on her hooves as she left an imprint there.

Due to her wearing nothing, she could feel the chill of the snow race through her body, causing her to shudder and shake a bit. The deep blue coloured sky was being complimented by a small glimpse of the golden sun, just trying to show its entire celestial body to the entire world in this cold winter wonderland. Celestia noticed that there was a trail of what seemed to be Pokeballs that led somewhere.

"Pokeballs?" She wondered. The alicorn followed the Pokeballs, venturing on their path. As she followed the seemingly endless line of Pokeballs, she noticed that it was directed at the castle. Why is that? There's nopony here. You can't even hear any sounds coming from the castle at all. But she continued to follow the trail of capturing items.

Entering the castle, the trail had changed. Becoming a trail of sliced cake on plates now. A sudden surprising change of pace.

"This is odd..." Celestia went up to the cake, looking down at it. She noticed that it was her favourite flavour. Vanilla. She looked around to see if anypony was watching. But due to the absolute silence, nopony was. Not even a single guard. The Sun Princess picked up a plate of cake, biting onto it as the delicious taste of enormous swiss and fine fresh flavour of vanilla. Vanilla may not be the most popular flavour on cakes to many ponies since its so basic, plain and safe, but Celestia loved it ever since she was a filly. So who cares? It tastes good to her. "Mmm...Always as good as it appears to be."

She continued to pick up the slices of cake as she went along. She didn't even notice where she was heading anymore. All she cared about was keeping her eyes on the plain white cake. But it was due to this that the secret could be even better than expected. Because once Celestia reached the final slice of cake, she was greeted to her throne room. She took a moment to savour the final bite, tasting the last of charming vanilla as she opened her eyes to a resounding surprise.

"SURPRISE!"

Everypony from Canterlot and Ponyville had bellowed at the top of their lungs. They were all here. Pokemon included. Even Blueblood and the Swords of Justice were here. The sight of it was astonishing to the non-regal dressed princess. Seeing everypony that she's probably met throughout her long reign here was a sight to behold. She saw how they laid out her entire throne room in the form a party. Instead of the usual balloons, paper and simple sticker decorations, they went above and beyond for this.

Everything was Celestia, Kirlia and sun-themed. From the giant Celestia balloon and Kirlia doll to a huge sun statue made out of crystals courtesy of the Crystal Empire and even the leviathan of a vanilla cake that towered over everything else, almost reaching the ceiling even. They even pitched in to repair the destroyed portion of the floor. And by repair, Ash basically got his Snorlax to fill up the hole. It was a perfect fit.

There was even a painting made by a Smeargle that showcased Princess Celestia standing at the top, showcasing all of the hard work she's done over the years. Thanks to Twilight filling the Painter Pokemon with the information. And on the top of the cake was small little decoration of Celestia and her Kirlia together.

Nice.

"Surprise, sister!" Luna ran over to her flabbergasted older sister. "Sorry if this seems a bit sudden! I wanted to make it as surprising as it can be! What do you think?" Luna let out a wide smile. Everyone leaned forward, hoping to get Celestia's response with wide smiles on their faces as well. Now they just had to wait for the answer.

Celestia's eyes were still examining everything around her. All of this. All this flash, these decorations, these larger than life party extensions that you wouldn't expect to find in the same room together was something that couldn't be ignored. Then...her reaction finally came in. It wasn't what everyone was expecting.

Celestia was feeling an emotion that she already knew existed and she had, but it has never been shown with her involved ever before. She's cried before. It was no mystery. But not like this. Celestia's hooves were shaking, unable to control their balance as she felt like passing out from the sight of it, but she kept firm. In her eyes, light blue tears were filling up in them, wobbling about as if they were struggling to fall. A great tremor overtook her. Tears raced down her cheeks. The sun princess lowered her head, letting out small silent bewailing sounds that could still be vividly heard from everyone else. You could even hear her whimpering a bit.

"S-Sister?" Luna was worried about her sister's current state once more. She leaned forward, putting her hoof over her big sister's neck. "A-Are you alright? If this is too much for you, I can simply just call it off." Many ponies as well thought that she was generally upset at all of this, but Audino and a few others could tell that those sounds weren't the sounds of sadness. But rather the sounds of joy, jubilance, alleviation and pure happiness. And it finally showed.

"No...it's perfect." Celestia spoke, putting her hooves over her eyes. "Thank you...Thank you all!" Celestia pulled Luna towards her, giving her little sister the biggest hug she'll ever feel. Nothing will come close.

"C-Can't breathe..." Luna attempted to gasp for air.

"Sorry." Celestia let Luna go, having a small giggle. "You did this all for me? Every last one of you?"

"Indeed. We all wanted to say thank you. We've actually never given our full gratitude to you. After everything you've done, all that you've been put through, we've never taken the time to realize just how much work and effort you put into ruling Equestria now matter how dire and difficult it continues to get. I suppose that's why you're the ruler after all. And it's why we should be thanking you instead of you thanking us constantly."

"Luna. I never cared for overwhelming gratitude. I put the ones I love over everything else. I love all of Equestria. I rule and protect it not because I seek fortune or fame. But because I want to see you all smile. I don't care if I'm wounded or even if I fail. Because I want to share all my love with you. All of you. And that's all that matters to me." Celestia nodded. And that's when the Boundless Cutie Mark acted up again for so long. Celestia's Cutie Mark which was in the centre of it all emanated a beautiful glowing light that went by in a flash.

"S-SOBBLE!" The entire speech that Celestia gave was enough to get the emotions in Sobble running. And as we all know. If Sobble cries, everyone cries. But this time, they were crying for a reason. They didn't even need Sobble to get most of them to tear up. Celestia's words were enough.

"She's so cool!" Sunrise put his hoof over his eyes, trying to act like he wasn't crying.

"This is not in character for me..." Darkrai was in the shadows, trying not to cry. But he was happy for Celestia as well.

"I'm not crying...it's liquid pride." Both Shining Armor and Keldeo said.

"D-DRAGONITE!" Ash's Dragonite couldn't take it anymore. It needed to give a glorious hug to everyone due to all this happiness being spread about. So it flew over to Celestia and everypony else, ready to hug them all in one.

"No Dragonite wait!" Twilight attempted to stop Dragonite, but it was too late. The number of ponies the Dragon Pokemon could hug were in its clutches. But nopony was complaining. Dragonite's hugs are warm.

"Now! Let's get this party started!" Pinkie bounced up, announcing that the party can finally begin.

The party was underway. Everything was for Celestia. Everything here was hers to touch and interact with. And so she did. She admired the amazing painting that BigTime Ben's Smeargle managed to paint. The art style was unique and unlike anything she had ever seen before, becoming an instant favourite to her. She went over to the balloons of her and Passion as she gave them a nice soft hug. These balloons are both soft and durable so they were impossible to pop so easily, making them perfect for hugging.

Ash, Hollow and Pikachu showed off some dazzling moves that a Pokemon contest would probably approve of. Infernape used Flamethrower in the air whilst Buizel spun around with Pulse, creating a whirlwind of water that surrounded the Flamethrower. Some extra pizzaz was added with Hollow using his wife's Roserade to perform Petal Blizzard. Now you had the perfect trio of Pokemon type moves in one. Grass, Fire, Water. More tricks were performed thanks to Rainbow Dash's Altaria firing a Dragon Pulse inside of the three moves. The pulse shaped like a dragon was standing at the top as it now looked like a dragon made out of the three famous elements.

She went through many other fun activities until she went over to the main attraction. That cake. The tallest vanilla cake she had ever seen. What a sight to behold. But despite her immense love for cake, she felt like giving some slices to everypony else. Even if this party was meant solely for her, she wanted to involve everypony else so that they could have a good time. There's a reason why she once used to be able to wield the Elements of Harmony. Because at her absolute best, she was all 6 of them in one. And at this point, she might as well be the perfect candidate for them once more. If they were still here that is.

The party carried on with everyone having a blast while snow falls in the background. Celestia took the time to head out of the party and towards Passion. She had to check up on her Pokemon after all. She looked over to see her Pokemon wide awake after having a nice rest. Celestia didn't want to leave her Pokemon out of the party, even if her magic was being sealed for the time being.

"Here you go, Passion. Gengar, phase through it." Celestia commanded Ash's Gengar to phase through the box whilst holding a slice of cake. Gengar gave the cake to Passion, allowing her to be involved in this. The Emotion Pokemon began chomping down on the vanilla, feeling the same excitement and bliss that Celestia feels whenever she eats vanilla cake..

"Kir!"

"Delicious isn't it?"

"Kirlia!"

"I'm glad. And Passion. I promise that I'll figure something out. Even if it harms me, I'll make sure that you're back to your wonderful self."

"Kirlia! Passion believed in her trainer. She knows that Celestia won't let her down, no matter what.

The sun princess took some time to head out in the balcony, looking over the now snow-clad land of Equestria. Despite all that she's gone through, she was proud to call herself ruler of Equestria actually. And she was especially proud to be apart of it.

"Aren't you going to come back inside for more, sister?" Luna walked up to her.

"I will. I just need a small moment, Luna."

"Ah." Luna sat down next to her big sister as they saw the orange sun start to set slowly thanks to Pyrestar. "You know...I wasn't so sure that we would make it this far when mother and father left their roles to us. I believed we would've given up in a few years. Perhaps 50 at best."

"I thought so too. But seeing how we've made it this far...I think I understand why they put so much faith onto us. I've even thought of retiring from time to time. But...after today...I don't think I want to. I want to continue spending time with the ones I love the most. And that includes family."

"You really mean it, Tia?"

"Of course I do. You're my sister. And nothing is better than family. I can safely say that." Celestia and Luna gave each other a sibling embrace, feeling at ease with each other.

The one singular entity eavesdropping on this whole thing was Adagio who originally had a plan to ruin everything. But after hearing all that Celestia had said and how much she cherishes family. She couldn't bring herself to do it. So she just left Canterlot to return to wherever it is she decides to hang out while plotting.

Even with all this peace, the issue of Passion's surge was still a thing. And that issue was starting to kick up again. Passion's power surge was coming back, stronger than ever this time. The box she was being sealed in was on the verge of breaking apart. Actually, it broke apart. Another power surge had arrived. And this time, with the party going on, it's in a vastly populated area. Depending on what happens next, the outcome could be catastrophic.

"Kirlia..."

Chapter 169 End!

Author's Note:

Celestia is my favourite character in MLP by a longshot. And this chapter only proves it further.
