PokePark.
Still trapped in it and attempting to find a way out, the ponies have been met with an unexpected aggressive obstacle. The Shadow Triad. Proving how dangerous they were, they all stood no chance the three of them and their Pokemon. And they're here for Cold Colt so that Ghetsis can harness the power to travel between multiple universes instead of one. With half of Ponyville injured thanks to the rest of the triad and Twilight keeping Cold Colt safe from one of the Shadows, the escape from the triad was in motion.
Rainbow Dash's group had no idea what was going on. The only thing that they knew was to go south. And tagging along was Oshawott, who had actually sensed the Shadow Triad arriving here earlier. Which is why Samurott ordered him to go along with the ponies, to keep the same from the threat. The ponies were all headed south, and located at the south, was the Crag Area.
An area that is populated by mostly Rock-Types and the master of this area is Emboar. The ponies arrived at the Crag Area by stopping at a cliffside.
"Does the way out have to be through here?" Rarity shook some dust off her hooves.
"That Samurott Pokemon told us to go south. So there has to be something there that can get us back." Rainbow Dash said.
"The air here's pretty thick. KInda tough to breathe a bit." Cloudchaser coughed.
"And it's so dusty..." Rainbow Dash rubbed dust out of her eyes. "I hope the others are having better luck than us. We'd better get going. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can deal with the weather again. Its probably going crazy without us there."
Whilst the ponies all attempt to find a way out of PokePark, on the outside, Applejack had set out to find Ash for help with Treecko following her. Big Mac and his Machamp stayed behind at the research lab, just in case anything important goes down. Applejack couldn't find Ash in his home. Delia told her that Ash had gone off with Goh to the Pokemon Center since Goh wants to try and trade Pokemon. Applejack made her way towards Vermillion City's Pokemon centre as fast she could.
Thankfully, Goh had finished his trade, gaining himself a Heracross. So the two had already finished their short adventure. Ash saw Applejack running across the pavement with Treecko on her head. "Hm? Hey, Applejack!" Ash waved.
"Pika-Pika!"
"Ash! There you are!" Applejack stopped in her tracks.
"Hey, Applejack! I just got caught a Hera-" Goh was about to speak but AJ cut him off.
"Forget about that! Everypony's trapped!"
"Trapped?" Both of them said.
"Pika?"
"I don't know the full story. But I'll tell ya'll on the way."
Applejack made sure that this was urgent. And it was. Even if she had no idea what was going on beyond that hatch. Leading them back to the other world, Ash and Goh set their eyes on the research lab next to Twilight's castle for the first time. But they didn't have time to gander at the lab as they had some friends to save. AJ showed them the hatch and how it was cleverly hidden. Treecko hopped off Applejack's back, climbing on the hatch, trying to open it.
"So they're trapped in here huh?" Goh walked up to the wall. "How do we get through it?"
"Beats me. Even Big Macintosh and Machamp can't get through it."
"Machamp..." The Superpower Pokemon shook his head.
"Hm. Let's try something." Ash got out one of his Pokeballs, sending his Gengar out. "Gengar. See if you can phase through those walls."
"Gen." It nodded. The Shadow Pokemon flew towards the walls, expecting to just pass through it as any normal ghost would. But to its surprise, it was knocked back by a pulse of cosmic energy. "Gar!"
"Gengar!" Ash ran to Gengar, picking him up. "So that won't do huh?"
"Of course not. No form of magic is getting through that." A familiar voice echoed through the room. They all turned to the direction of where they heard it. There was Obsidian, sitting there on a table with Emerald Aura beside him.
"Obsidian!" Applejack stamped her hooves down.
"You think magic is going to help you? No way pal! Your Pokemon are just magical creatures by the end of the day...and magic can't do anything against Cosmic energy."
"So it was you that trapped them inside!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Treecko!"
"Guilty. But don't worry, they'll find a way out. Might take a while though." Obsidian chuckled. "But none of you are getting past there. Unless you had cosmic energy of you own...which you don't, you're all stuck out here until your pals get back."
"You just love to make things harder on us doncha?! I'd expect nothing less from a varmin like you!"
"Pssh. Please. I don't have to listen to any of your country insults, farm girl. I got better things to do right now. Like planning how I'm gonna make things harder for you next time. Buh-bye." Obsidian smirked as he and Emerald were being transported away via the Rift. Applejack stomped her hooves around in frustration.
"I can't stand him!" She stopped stamping as she sat down, sighing. "What now?"
"So nothing's gonna break through it? No form of magic is going to help?" said Goh.
"So that means that Discord's out of the picture...unless..." Ash's brain suddenly started to pick up something.
"What? What is it Ash?" Applejack went up to him.
"If magic can't break through it..." Ash held out another Pokeball. "Then maybe Aura will." He sent out his Riolu to give it a try.
"You think Aura's going to help?" Goh asked.
"I may not know a ton about it. But what I do know is that Aura isn't magic. It's the natural lifeforce of our world. It's the only non-magic thing here. Riolu. Try getting that hatch open." Ash pointed at the hidden hatch.
"Rio." The Emanation Pokemon nodded. He went up to the hatch, looking up at it. Riolu may be young and small, but they are still capable of emanating potent Aura waves, even when they haven't evolved into a Lucario yet. Riolu placed his paws on the hatch, closing his eyes. He emanated all of his residing Aura as azure blue energy flowed upwards. This Aura release was even shining on Ash as his entire body was surrounded by Aura as well. Riolu's was making Ash's act up. And just like that, a glimmer of hope. Aura was enough to actually affect the cosmic energy. The hatch was actually moving, but not by much. It only opened up just a bit.
"It's working!" Applejack said with a grin on her face. "Aura's working!"
"But it's still not enough though. Does Riolu have a ton of Aura left over?" Goh asked.
"We'll just have to see. Keep going Riolu!" Ash exclaimed. Riolu nodded as he still had a lot of Aura left to give off. More waves of Aura kept flowing along the hatch, slowly lifting it up. The progress was there, but for a baby Pokemon like Riolu, it was a bit of a struggle. Unable to see its friends ever again made Riolu dig deeper. The Aura within him was pulsating like crazy. And with a burst of energy and adrenaline, Riolu lifted up the entire hatch, finally getting it open. He had tired himself out though as the baby Pokemon sat down from exhaustion. "Awesome! You did it Riolu!" Ash picked up his Pokemon giving him a hug.
"Pikachu!"
"Rio..."
"Finally. We can get somewhere. Come on ya'll!" Applejack wasted no time as she galloped inside. The others followed suit. Now it was time to find their friends and get them out of here. Once they entered PokePark, the first thing they saw as an Audino tending to the injured Pokemon who were taken out by Guillotine. She saw the other ponies and humans come through, waving towards them and asking them to come here.
"Audi! Audino!" She cried out.
"Pika?" Pikachu hopped off Ash's shoulder, running towards the Audino. "Pikachu?"
"Audino..."
"These Pokemon look like their necks have taken serious damage." Ash noticed. "Can you ask her what happened Pikachu?"
"Pika. Pika-Pikachu?" Pikachu asked her about what happened here and if they had seen the rest of their friends.
"Audino. Audi, Audino." She responded by telling Pikachu that their pony friends are being hunted down by these three terrifying people and their Pokemon. A Bisharp had used the move Guillotine to defeat the Pokemon that tried to defend Twilight and Cold Colt.
"P-Pika?!" Pikachu was shocked by what he heard as he told everything to Ash. "Pika! Pikachu!" He mimicked the scene by stretching his face to match that of a Bisharp a bit, then he did hand movements replicating the chase.
"So that's what happened huh?"
"What happened?" AJ asked Ash.
"These three guys are apparently chasing down our friends. I don't know who they are, but they must be around here still. Where to?"
"Pika?" Pikachu asked Audino once more.
"Audino." She said she didn't know. But she did point to the direction of Seasong Beach, where Twilight was headed. But what Audino also didn't know, was that Fluttershy's group had actually managed to escape from the rest of Team Plasma thanks to Princess Snivy giving them some time. They all came here, still pretty hurt from before. And Fluttershy's Audino couldn't heal them unfortunately since she was also injured.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu noticed Fluttershy and the others as he called for them.
"Pikachu? Ash!" Fluttershy had a smile on her face along with everypony, relieved to see Ash and Pikachu here. Pikachu ran to Fluttershy, giving her a hug as she embraced him back.
"You guys look really beat up! What happened?" Ash ran to them.
"Sorry, Ash. But we kind of got a little bit overwhelmed." Pinkie sighed, holding her hoof in pain.
"Ow." Jade felt small pain, but compared to everypony else, she wasn't that hurt.
"Some guys named the Shadow Triad came along with Team Plasma. They're hunting down Cold Colt. Thankfully, Twilight managed to escape with him." Fluttershy explained.
"Shadow Triad? I've never heard of them before. Have they always been with Team Plasma?" Ash wondered. "But nevermind that. Why are they after Cold?"
"Cold Colt is the only pony that can travel between universes. Ghetsis saw this and wants that for himself." Mayor Mare explained, carrying her Stoutland on her back.
"So Ghetsis wants to conquer every single universe then?" Goh said.
"Alright. I get it. You all get back to Ponyville. The hatch is open now thanks to Riolu here." Ash petted Riolu. "Applejack, Goh, Big Mac and I can handle everything from here."
"Alright. Be careful, Ash." Fluttershy nodded as everypony finally got their freedom. Passing through the exit, they made their way to the Pokemon Research lab and to sweet home, Ponyville.
Rainbow Dash's group had just made it to the entrance of the Crag Area, but they were being blocked by the gatekeeper there. A Bastiodon.
"Bastiodon!"
"Whos this chump?" Dash took out her dex.
"Bastiodon. The Shield Pokemon. This Pokémon is from roughly 100 million years ago. Its terrifyingly tough face is harder than steel. The bones of its face are huge and hard, so they were mistaken for its spine until after this Pokémon was successfully restored. When they lined up side by side, no foe could breakthrough. They shielded their young in that way. It lived in the same environments as Rampardos. Their fossils have been found together— seemingly from after they’d fought to the finish. Any frontal attack is repulsed. It is a docile Pokémon that feeds on grass and berries."
"Hey, pal. We kinda gotta get through. We need to get home fast." Rainbow Dash flew up to it.
"Bastio? Bastiodon!" Bastiodon shook his head. He's not going to let some strangers just casually pass through the gate and towards the Crag Area.
"Come on! Samurott told us to come here! So let us through!"
"Bastio..." Bastiodon reacted to the name Samurott. Even if they got permission from any of the area masters, they would still have to do one final thing in order to pass. Defeat Bastiodon in a battle. "Bastiodon!"
"Huh? All I have to do is beat you to get through? Deal!" Rainbow Dash could actually tell when a Pokemon is picking a fight.
"I'm surprised she understood that." Thunderlane whispered.
"We'll make this quick! Braviary!" Rainbow Dash sent out her ace, Braviary.
"Braviary!"
"Bastiodon!"
"Let's finish it in one hit! Superpower!" Rainbow commanded, making the first move as always. Braviary flew towards Bastiodon, ready to land that move head-on. The Shield Pokemon responded by using the move Take-Down. Surprisingly, Rainbow Dash's one-hit command actually worked as Superpower overpowered Take-Down easily. Bastiodon was launched towards the gate, fainting in one hit.
"B-Bastiodon..."
"LIghtwork. Now, are you gonna let us through?" Rainbow flew to him.
"Bastio..." He nodded as a reply. Bastiodon got back up, opening the gate to the Crag Area for them all. Entering the Crag Area, the thick air they once felt had died down, making it much easier to breathe. They thought they were going to get answers on how to escape from here, but it wasn't until they were stopped by something more urgent. Twilight had also managed to reach the Crag Area. She arrived by flying in from above, still on the run from the triad. She had Cold Colt in her hooves and Eve on her head. "Everypony!"
"Twilight?" Rarity looked up, seeing her friends as the other ponies turned their attention to the skies. "Have you found a way out, darling?"
Twilight flew down, placing Cold Colt on the ground. "Only one way from what I can tell right now. Apparently, we have to get to someplace called Wish Park."
"Wish Park? A park that grants wishes?" Derpy said.
"Well, no. But the owner of the park, Darkrai, can help us get out of here. We just have to get through those poster portals."
"W-where's everypony else?" Rainbow Dash looked around, not spotting the other group.
"About that... You see, Cold Colt here's being hunted down by these people known as the Shadow Triad. They ended up attacking us and everypony. Ghetsis wants to travel between multiple universes so that he can conquer them all. And Cold Colt's the only pony who's actually been able to summon that many portals to various universes."
"Using him as an item? Has he no respect for life?" Rarity scoffed.
"Apparently not. Ghetsis will do anything to reach his goals. Even if it means harming others to get what he wants."
"Well, we don't have to worry about that right now. We've gotta make sure that everypony's alright. Those Shadow Triad chumps are gonna be a piece of cake if I ever come across them." Rainbow Dash smirked.
"You really think that?" The voice that replied to Rainbow Dash made Twilight gasp in fear. She turned around, along with everypony else to see the middle Shadow and his Bisharp. They caught up to Twilight easily.
"B-But how...? How did you catch up so fast?" Twilight stammered.
"When aiming for a goal, we never lose sight of our prey. So no matter where you run, fly or teleport, we will find you. No matter what. And we're taking that pony."
Cold Colt shuddered, getting behind Twilight and everypony else.
"You stay far away from them!" Rainbow Dash flew up front with Braviary on her side. "Who do you think you are harming my friends?!"
"Making it more difficult than it needs to be? Fine. Bisharp. Guillotine." The Shadow wasted no time. He wanted to get this job done quickly. Bisharp ran forward, ready to take them all out in one hit once more.
"Braviary! Superpower!" Braviary retaliated by using its wings to clash with Bisharp's blades. Thankfully, Superpower was enough to stop Guillotine from taking them out in one go. But Bisharp continued its assault. It immediately slashed upwards, harming Braviary's beak as it kicked the Valiant Pokemon towards its trainer. Rainbow Dash and Braviary were both knocked to the ground.
"Rainbow Dash!" Rarity cried out.
"Guillotine. Once more." Bisharp was ready to use it again, and this time it was going to make sure that everypony gets taken out in one hit. Twilight and every other unicorn there put up a barrier. Maybe with the combined might of an alicorn's magic and various unicorn magic, the barrier won't break as easily like last time. But to their dismay, Bisharp managed to break through it as well. Guillotine cut through the barrier, breaking it apart into millions of pieces. Not only that, but everypony and their Pokemon were immediately taken out, falling to the ground. The only pony who didn't fall was Twilight, thankfully. But she still felt Guillotine's impact. "Done and done." The Shadow walked over to Cold Colt who was on the ground, damaged. He picked up the pony, holding him by the neck so that he doesn't get the chance to bite his way out.
"P-Put him down." Twilight tried to stand up straight, but it was no use. Bisharp had damaged her hooves and wings as well.
"Lord Ghetsis doesn't want you alive. None of you. He sees you all as threats. So you must all perish as a result. Finish them Bisharp." Bisharp was about to deal the finishing blow to them all by using Night Slash. It lunged upwards, raising its blades up to seal the deal. Eve looked up, seeing the imminent danger coming their way. She couldn't let this happen as she tapped into her uncontrollable Psychic power. With a burst of energy, she managed to save them all by teleporting them away from the Shadow and Bisharp, granting them safety. "Gone. Lord Ghetsis. We have the pony you requested for. Should we return?"
"Those pony brats are pretty persistent. Evading death at the right exact moment. Return the pony to me. We'll deal with the ponies very soon." Ghetsis spoke through a communicator.
"Understood." The Shadows each heard Ghetsis's commands. They left the scene, vanishing from PokePark. How they manage to appear and disappear? That's a mystery on its own.
For the first time ever, Twilight and all of Ponyville had felt a total loss. They had never suffered a loss this big before. Not by Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra or anypony else. Not only could they not defend Cold Colt, but they were no match for the triad. None of their Pokemon were. Eve had fainted from using all her Psychic power. Twilight was about to faint as well as she looked up to the sky. Her eyes were closing, the last thing in her line of sight being the clouds of the Crag Area. And just like that...she fainted.

One thing they really need to practice is battling together in a group, as in all of their Pokemon are facing several opponents or a single powerful one. Such practice would allow them to cover a weakness the other have.

Can't really blame them. Pokemon are still new territory for them. And the only pony race that are focused on battling are the pegasi. Since they used to be a warrior tribe a long time ago. The others aren't too keen on battling.
