Personally, I find the singed mane part to make the story seem a tad off, but I can accept one moment of unprecedented strangeness.

I liked the story. Celestia's back story was a tad strange, but nothing I can't accept as possible. Cadence and Celestia both felt in character. Over all, I look forward to more.
