Don’t fret Tia. I’m sure there are a few world ending threats that you covered up well enough that you can drip feed them in a Machiavellian ploy.
I have to say, this looks like a pretty good one-shot. Surprisingly good job on the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up in this slight AU. Intriguing to see Twi actually Genre Savvy enough to realize the existence of other potential threats besides Nightmare Moon and be proactive, albeit at the cost of the smaller scale friendship lessons. Oddly enough, the greater focus on action sounds surprisingly similar to Lauren Faust's original vision for the series from what I've read. But, on the upside at least Twilight's not freaking out about the thought of getting sent back to magic kindergarten for being one or two days late on a friendship report.
At any rate definitely looking forward to more of your work.

But speaking seriously:
What about all the other fundamental problems?
They are just defeating monsters, but unlike in the show they do not solve social problems. They do not change society for the better. Even worse, they make it dependent on them and use simple "brute force", so to say.
Where is the mental improvement? Where is the growth of character? Where is the sharing of experiences and wisdom about friendship? Where is the improvement of the world as a whole for everycreature?
What are they gonna do, if for some reason the Elements are not available? What if the bearers get in a petty fight with each other? What if even a single bearer gets taken out?
And how will Twilight learn how to be a good and wise ruler, if all she does is beating monsters and always winning easily?
I'd say, Tia's plan is the better option.

interesting story. Twilight is learning to be a hero, but you could argue that by being constantly on the move she isn't learning to make connections to others, or to fix things up in the aftermath
This was funny, especially seeing Tia's reaction to the "Friendship Squad" and their deeds. XD
