You'll never understand a pony until you walk a mile in their horseshoes. Or more appropriately, until a magical goddess forces you to switch bodies with the other in an effort to force the lesson upon you. That's right, its a body swap fiction! Starring everyone's favorite musical ponies, Vinyl and Octavia! (Partially narrated by Princess Luna)
Deciding to do the AN boring stuff down here, because I'm a rebel and I live on the edge n shit!
But no seriously, there's not a lot to be said. Although I must say I've never seen this done before, but if it has oh well.
Shoutout to nobody in particular, because I'm a recluse on the site and have no friends/prereaders, and all my real life friends aren't this deep into the fandom, those that aren't haters that is.
Feel free to leave your thoughts on this, and I'll more than likely respond because I love each and every one of you.
And yes, before anyone asks, the actual body swap happens in the next part. Blame my love for a tiny bit of buildup and character development before throwing them to the fate of a crazy alicorn goddess.

This was also a very good story but I was surprised Ponies had Cuss words.

Anywho, this looks interesting. Octavia going for the blood seems a bit too much, but I'm sure we'll get an explanation for it when we look deeper in the personal insecurities and all that. Thanks for dropping the link to Nightmare Night btw, never heard it before.

I likes this and the idea appeals to my odd sense of humor. My only question is why no Lyra to make it worse?

To answer your question, yes that was they. And there might be more of them later on. I decided to put them in so Vinyl had a crowd to hang with like Octavia had hers.

Yay an update! I want to apologize for the huge delay between chapters. I even cut this one down from its intended length slightly just so I can keep this thing going (but don't worry, I didn't skimp out on quality). I want to apologize again because updates will be infrequent at best, as this semester's classes have dumped a huge load of reading on me. For those of you who know about Mr. David McColough (author of Pulitzer Prize winning biographies Truman and John Adams), I am reading two biographies written by him, and the biography of Oppenheimer for one class. For those of you who don't know about those books, it means I have about 1800 pages of reading for one class, and that's not counting the papers and other readings I have to do for the other 4 classes 
But I will continue writing this in what little free time I have, because I really do enjoy this story and I'm pretty sure you want to see what happens next. God forbid that I throw this away just because of school. I need some way to stay sane after all
But yeah, tl;dr school is fucking my free time in the ass, so no guarantees of when the next chapter will come. Though if you do follow my blog posts I will try to keep you all updated.

Heh, this is going to be an interesting ride I think. I wonder how Octavia's surprising fighting skills might come in handy while stuck in Vinyl's night club djing body while I wonder how long before Vinyl tries to spice up a classic in middle of a concert.

There is a brony musician who need more coverage and recognition : YourEnigma. Plus, he produces quite a bit of classical music, so he can be a counterpoint to Vinyl's groupies.
Anyways, the story is starting really well, even though I seem to remember another story in which Luna exhchanges two minds (Rarity an AJ, if I recall correctly). Now to read the rest !

Amazing... Im rarely very impressed with many fanfics, but this one was incredible. Wonderful storyline, complete with humor that made me laugh so hard i almost woke my grandpa up from his nap. All I can say now is MOAAAAARRR!
P.S. This made me look up Handel's Sonata VI on Viola. So beautiful

I've seen several fics where Vinyl Scratch has a secret talent, such as playing classical music.
I've never seen one with Octavia having a secret talent. Would it be so much to ask? It doesn't even have to be dubs. Maybe she's a great baker, or she knows how to Snorkel like a pro. Or maybe even is a black belt in Maretial Arts *rimshot*.
Though, to be fair, I've read enough fics that they've each been just about everything, including one where Octavia is a Mob Daughter...
Anyways, liked and favorited.
I do have a twist in mind for Vinyl's playing of classical instruments, but it won't be revealed until at least chapter after next. For Octavia though, you have given me some interesting food for thought. I'll have to mull this one around, but it all comes down to what flows out of my pencil onto the paper.
Edit: just thought of something. Boy that didn't take long.
You know, actually, my Maretial Arts thing *all groan* wasn't an entirely bad idea, now that I think about it. In that, one thing you did was have it be their own minds, but in each other's bodies...which is to say that Octavia-in-Vinyl reacts to a hangover in the same way as Vinyl does--hence how cold water needs to be splashed on her. So Vinyl-in-Octavia getting mugged and suddenly finding her reflexes kicking butt, or anything that would involve some aspect of that knowledge coming with the body, or not coming with it (Ocavia: Watch out, I know Kung-Fu *fails because Vinyl's body doesn't have the reflexes*)
Or something. Anyways...
As flattered as I am to have this story called perfect, I can't help but disagree. Then again I always dislike my work the more I read it. It gives me motivation to push myself to make it better, which is a good and bad thing. Like now, I have the next chapter written on paper, but I'm trying to improve it as I type, which has left me stuck for a bit. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon though.
