Equestria is a land of ponies. Others do live among them to be sure, but by and large, they are far fewer and far between. Canterlot in particular, as the nation's capital, has always been predominantly pony.
So one day, when a family of minor nobility bring a griffon infant into their family, can the child overcome the prejudices of the capital's elite and the disdain of her own kind?
What will life be like for a griffon amidst a world of ponies?

Perfect Rose was just too precious in this chapter. And sadly, while his execution was a little botched, Fancy Mane does have a point. Things are going to be hard for her as she grows older. Lets just hope this hardship doesn't lead to darkness in her.

Simply because at this point in the timeline the countries aren't exactly the best if friends, acquaintances more like, and there isn't much in the way of free movement between the two. Griffonian ponies and Equestrian griffons exist, but they're a minority in the respective lands.
By the end of FIM things have improved and some of the lands surrounding Equestria do intermingle a lot more, but that's years from now.
Well, while it was predictable that there would be reactions like Social Grace's, it doesn't make it any less despicable. And Bluebood is never pleasant anyway.

You have an element of the canon from Season 7, but you missed something that was explained in season 6. Specifically, something that was explained in a manner that would make it a believable constant throughout fanon. Sweet Apple Acres sells all their cider locally, on a first come first served basis. It'd spoil if shipped, and part of the promised quality is getting it straight from the press to the consumer so it doesn't have the chance to spoil even a little. As Granny said, 'cider starts to spoil the second it comes out the press.'
