Finale (fin-alley) is the penultimate happening of an event, story, movie, etc.
Finally (fine-uh-lee) is a way of saying “it’s about time” or “we have arrived at last” (just as a few examples). It is commonly, but not always, from a point of annoyance or irritation. It can also be an expression of excitement.
Example: “Finally, the grand finale!”
