Oh, yeah, the identity of the "creator" of the pony world (I made sure to use the "alternate universe" tag). In the very first concept, it was Laurent Faust and that wasn't really much fun at all. It just asked more questions than I could care to try to answer.
So I chose to have Pinkie Pie to take the role of the creator, as a call back to a very old story of mine ("the last pinkie promise"). I tried to put hints here and there (pink water, Celestia being pink, mane and tail with shapes of clouds, giggling, the use of the word silly, hugs, emphasis on being friends with everpony, the fear of being alone and so on, a party in the distance...).
The identity doesn't change much, but I couldn't state it clearly because it would just confuse most people. She is just a pretext to write about the overall concept of purpose in a light manner.
I just wanted to take the scene where Celestia asks Twilight what she would have done in her place out of my head.
The drawing on Celestia's shadow is Luna in this context.
... yeah, I've got very little excuse for that one. I just felt like it...
It's very interesting to think about what twilight would think about the whole situation. Ponies have such a strong idea of destiny and fate due to things like cutie marks telling therm what they were "destined to do". When she learns that the guiding force/pony in the universe has left, and there is nothing that has a bigger plan for them, how would she feel. How would this change her outlook on life when she learns that no more is there a force above all guiding life along.
I really did enjoy reading this fic.
