Moondancer may only be a foal for a month, but I think it's clear that's almost more than Minuette can handle on her own. At the least Twilight should inform the rest of her old Canterlot friends about the situation so they won't be surprised if Minuette has to stop hanging out with them as much as she usually does.

I'm particularly fond of how Minuette gets to play a major role in this one. It definitely helps flesh out her character more than what is seen in "Amending Fences".
The dialogue between Celestia and Twilight is also very well written. There's really nothing in this tale that doesn't seem like it couldn't be, to some degree, made canon for a fun episode in the isadventures of developing new magic. :)
considering the subject matter of the story, i'll keep this in my Foals bookshelf, but, due to just not being able to believe the interactions between the characters, this is also going in my Meh folder until further notice

If river was already smiling at the sight of Minuette and Moondancer, why then say right after that she's smiling at them? That really did throw me off.

She at least needs somepony to help foalsit to take some of the pressure off her.

I do think Minute's reaction to seeing the foal Moondancer would be a lot more hostile. She would be quite angry at Twilight for recklessly experimenting on their friend.
Celestia would also be a little more hostile towards Twilight and actually be quite upset at her.
Also Minute would be quite cranky I think and lash out at Twilight for the bad news.

That was kinda rude of Minuette. I don't care how embarrassing it would've been if twilight had seen her teats. Twi would've understood sheesh
It's fun coming back to this tale and seeing the progress being made. Chapter 3 is certainly showing a more relaxed Minuette. Perhaps she could make a good mommy someday?

I don't know why they would need to come up with a cover name for Moondancer, especially if they're not gonna change her appearance. They could always have Princess Celestia issue a gag order for ponies not to repeat the knowledge.

This story shines in how, to me, it is like a follow-up to "Amending Fences". It's a fun way to illustrate the dynamic between Minuette, Lemon Hearts, Twinkle Shine, Twilight, and Moon Dancer. Moon Dancer may not have a whole lot of input but getting to know the others along with how they are seeming to feel their inner mother coming out is really cute.
I do hope the show brings back everyone again. I think there is a lot to still learn and enjoy with Twi's old pals. Your story certainly does great in illustrating this point. :)

This story just gets more adorable with each passing chapter. I really enjoyed the scene in the bookstore along with Celestia being available to greet little ones and their parents in the Canterlot Gardens. this latter aspect definitely makes Celestia seem less like a monarch and more like a Pony of the Populace. She has all sorts of responsibilities but still makes time for the citizens.
Getting Minuette's take on foals is also interesting. She seems to be teetering on the fence on whether being an actual mom would be her thing. Good thing Twilight, Lemon Hearts, and twinkle Shine are helping out. :)
Flurry Heart's rubbing off on Moondancer. Someone needs to think about casting a spell to keep little ones from being able to teleport and fly around, or just get Pinkie Pie, she's got plenty of experience with that stuff.
