“Doesn’t matter! You got aggro now!”
“Real life doesn’t work like O&O!”
It had been hysterical to see Twilight bravely throw herself before the final wave of twenty snowballs targeted at both Sunset and Moon Dancer. Twilight’s shield had held only for the first five before it collapsed under the deluge of frozen water.

Twilight confirmed for party tank.:duck:

“Ah, but therein lies your misconception, my dear student,” Celestia said as the twinkle intensified. “I don’t need an excuse.”

Trolestia strikes again.:trollestia:
Oh, and nerf Alicorns! They are OP!:twilightangry2:

Great story and i thoroughly enjoyed helping with it.

 "Princess Celestia, what is best in life?"

:trollestia: "To pelt your subjects with snowballs. To see them frozen before you. To hear the chattering of their teeth."

:twilightoops:

7805190 I always thought it was beer.

7805249 This actually occurs between The Cloudsdale Report and A Study on Chaos Theory. This story isn't in the timeline yet, as it just came to me recently! :pinkiehappy:

Always feels good to be the 10th like. Feels empowering!

~ Chapter: 13

All's fair in love and snowball fights. Although I half expect a love triangle to pop up sooner or later now. Too bad there's no Snowball elements, as without a snow superlaser they don't really stand a chance against an alicorn.

Great story, just a nice little happy winter moment.

Should I read the other stories of this universe to understand this one?

7805472
If you want to know why the various aggressors in the snowball fight are there, yeah.

If all you want is adorable snowfights with light shipping, by all means, come on in.

7805472

You really don't have to. It's designed to be just a fun and entertaining story that gives some minor lead-in to my next story Arc. While you might get a bit more out of it if you've read the previous tales first, I think it's enjoyable enough on its own! :pinkiehappy:

7805272 :moustache: Power to the ponies!

7805384 ./scribbles-down-notes-to-create-a-Element-of-Snow.

Wait, what do you mean Disney already owns all the copyrights to that?! :raritydespair:

Yay, winter story. If only i had some snow over here for Christmas.

it was so fun reading about the full bunch of friends again:pinkiehappy:

and after have had to to wait in anticipation for getting to read the next chapters of Wavelengths, it was so lovely to read a short story
and what a short story it is :raritystarry:, the story real gave me winter feeling
and it so many AWSOME references ^^

So if you really love Christmas c'mon and read this fic^^ (too much LOVE ACTALLY)

happy holiday to you all and a happy new year :scootangel:

I'm so glad this is finally out and published!

Some stories are so meaningful and introspective, that they can affect who you are and how you see yourself.
Some stories inspire the best within us, changing us and the world for the better.

Some stories.. just make you smile. And we all need to smile more :)
This is one of those stories.

Extremely entertaining one-shot. :-D I loved the exchanges, humor, emotional content and general wrap-up in all the right places. Yeah, these are some pretty well-done light-hearted winter-time shenanigans. :-D I'll definitely be looking forward to more of your work as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

However, just before the door closed, she glanced at Twilight, Moon Dancer and then back to Sunset in an odd way. Then… she winked.

OT3?! :pinkiehappy:

Anyway, this was lovely. Just some good old fashioned fun.

7805550 Hey, I live in Southern California. The only time I see snow is occasionally on a mountain near where I live and on postcards! :duck: In fact, I have to confess I don't remember if I've ever actually been in a snowball fight myself.

7805568 Thanks Ramm!

7805733 "Shenanigans" I love this word. It is a wonderful word. And you are wonderful to use this wonderful word. :pinkiehappy:

One of my new favorite reasons to love the Christmas season, as of the last couple years? All the wonderful Hearth's Warming stories that come out on FimFic! :pinkiehappy:

So, it was time for a classic technique she had learned from Rara’s manager, Spotlight, a few years ago…

I think you meant a few weeks, not years.

Otherwise another nice story, and we finally get some shipping goodness. :raritystarry:

7807178 Thank you! And here I was starting to think people wanted dark stuff this Christmas! (Weird).

7807693 Nope! It was about three years. The event Sunset mentions will be revealed in the upcoming How Not To Use Your Royal Prerogative! but it did happen about three years from the events in Snowbound!

It had been hysterical to see Twilight bravely throw herself before the final wave of twenty snowballs targeted at both Sunset and Moon Dancer. Twilight’s shield had held only for the first five before it collapsed under the deluge of frozen water.

Only one song comes to mind...you know what it is. http://memestorage.com/_nw/32/65134227.jpg

LOL Could see Sunset and MoonDancer in their vision Twilight diving to shield them in slow mo as the song pplayed inthe back ground.

On Behalf of Author's Helping Authors
Here is a Review of your story.
Grammar: 10
Pros:
Simple, Plain, Casual, Page Break Design (Snowflake)
Cons:
Connected to a timeline, (Confusing to those who haven't read it yet).
No paragraphing (Online View/ Mode)

Notes: Other than what I mentioned it was good.
(But the Pun, HAHAHA)
Please check out one of my stories down below and look at it and feel free to comment or like it or whatever you want. (Though I would recommend "The Secret of Vinyl Scratch since it is the shortest and a One Shot.)
'The Flash' meets 'The Dash'
A Day in the Life of Flash Sentry
The Story of Chris the Changeling
The Secret of Vinyl Scratch

7815116 Thank you for your thoughts. I'll take a look at your tales and see what catches my eye. I am a bit confused as to your comments regarding "Page Break Design" as a pro and "No paragraphing" as a con, as the story was formatted in the same manner you would find most paperback fiction novels. Could you explain that to me please?

7815673
Oh, what I mean is the online appearance.
For example all my stories would look like yours (online) but have paragraphs on Word.
So I guess I was wrong with a con, my mistake.
And as for Page Break Design I mean the snowflake thingy.
Also, did you say 'tales'?
Please don't call them that, (mainly because it implies a great classic that inspires everybody, take "The Little Mermaid" for example, without that story I wouldn't be the author I am now or today, every other story I wrote not that related or connected to my Eternian Timeline (Please Don't Ask) was because I still wanted to write more based upon what I was inspired by, (which was everything and everyone, I am after all easily changed by what I read or see, but not too easily). (I used to hate it once, that was my inspiration for my first story.)
(I am just not worthy of such praise and admiration for a story to be called a 'tale'. And I am also humble, so this is one 'compliment' I have to refuse.)
Fixed now.

7815704 Ah, I see. Well, I was quite pleased with how the breaks turned out and I'm delighted see you were as well.

There is much strife in Sunset's future. She'll need to enjoy the little things if she is to retain what sanity she has left.

Wow, that was needlessly grim, wasn't it? Looking forward to more especially the further developments of that nascent love triangle.

7827780 Hey, those were three friends, freezing cold from the SNOWBALL WAR TO END ALL SNOWBALL WARS, just huddled together under one blanket in front of the fire! Nothing happened! :scootangel:

I can't believe that you actually have a wife, good for you man.

I couldn't stop thinking of tuck's snow fortress from My life as a teenaged robot.

7838340
It's more surprising that he's got a wife who supports his writing fanfiction about technicolor horses.

7903157 My wife has already been my primary editor. I've been writing for longer since we've been married... and that's quite a while.

Nothing happened!

Not yet......:ajsmug:

Sunset couldn’t remember the last time she’d experienced anything quite so perfect.

I should probably take this at face value, but I can't help but think something horrific is about to happen. If this wasn't a one-shot, the next chapter would be when she wakes up to a demonic invasion, a falling-out with Moon Dancer, and a really bad bed mane.

7815673

… "No paragraphing" as a con, as the story was formatted in the same manner you would find most paperback fiction novels.

The issue here is that this isn't paperback; this is online. The general consensus is that the virtual medium should have double-spaced paragraphs, since it increases readability and there is no concern about running out of room (indents with double-spaced paragraphs are optional). The format this story is in is perfectly fine, but expect to hear about it from time to time.

Well, it is part of an ongoing narrative... :trollestia:

I'm a traditionalist! :derpytongue2: Yeah, I know. That's why I did SunLight Sliders as the double-spaced version, because multiple people wrote it. :twilightsheepish:

8125531
Are you saying she is going to get terrible bed mane? The horror! :raritydespair:

8125542

Are you saying she is going to get terrible bed mane? The horror! :raritydespair:

Eh. Already did that in Bell Curve.

8125559
I'm not sure that counts; there wasn't a bed involved.

Well, I just spent the last few days sick and have been amusing myself with re-reading (and reading for the first time) some of my favorites; all the way from the Alchemy of Chemistry to here. In order this time. This is one of the most enjoyable storylines I've seen on this site and I love your take on these characters, especialy our ever repentant and self-doubting Sunset. It's a joy to see her grow up from who she was in the first chapter of Alchemy.

So I'm just going to say thanks for making my day(s) and I can't wait to see how this long tale turns out, though with you writing it I doubt I'd be dissapointed whichever turn it takes.

It's a joy to see her grow up from who she was in the first chapter of Alchemy.

As Celestia said in Applications, she's come a long way, but there's still a long way to go. I'm thrilled you've enjoyed her journey so far and I do I hope you'll love what's in store just as much as what you've experienced so far! Thank you kindly.

(Also? Great to see a comment on this story. It's been a long time since I've seen any comments here! And feel better soon!) :pinkiehappy:

For some reason, I keep misreading the title as "Tactics of Snowblind Alicorns". Which, you have to admit, would make this quite a different story than what it is right now!

8699513
Yes it would be! But, come on! We all know Tia was going to totally trounce them. After all, there's a line after the fight where Sunny's thinking about it. She describes something in an oddly specific way. Something that might reflect on something in the future... :duck:

8700342
I swear, you're a bigger tease than Minutette :P.

8700401
Nah.

...I'm worse than Tia. :trollestia:

Was that a Monty Python reference?

I like the continual one-upsmanship (is that a word?) going on. Especially when Sunset got pasted with an entire tree's worth of snow. :D
And of course the other ships too. :P
...I do wonder who the other five of the elements (or however it works in this one) are supposed to be. Does it include (some of) the friends she already has, or are there still more...?

It's fun to kick your main character's flank with a boot of snow. :)

And of course the other ships too. :P

THERE IS NO ROMANCE TAG ON THIS STORY! run away run away run away

Watch and see, my friend. Watch and see...
