The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

This story is a sequel to Guardian Halo

So much chaos, so much death. Equestria is in turmoil, and Starswirl is in despair. How could he have ever thought that he would end it? Why did he ever think he could make a difference?

Many thanks to many of my friends for being my pre-readers and offering their feedback: Protopony350, Kirito-Persona, MelancholyIguana, and CeilingLeo.

Many thanks also to my friend Reneigh Haycart for once again being an editor, and to my friend Will-Owl-the-Wisp for also being an editor, and for the gorgeous cover art. The original can be found here.

Hey, Wisp! First off, uttered is definitely the term I'm going for, since one of the definitions is to say something aloud. And as for the dashes, I've seen them used with spaces around before, and I personally think it looks better, so that's why I use that. Purely a stylistic choice. :twilightsheepish:

But once I am home, I'll most definitely take care of that other typo you found. Thank you for pointing that out! (And I hope I do not offend with this comment...)

Also, thank you again for adding this to your collection!

Another great read mate!

Thank you very much, my friend! I'm very glad that you enjoyed it. And thank you once again for the favorite.

I personally cant wait for part 3 when Starswirl becomes a billionaire by inventing a new type of food and selling it at every festival in Equestria. It'll be called "Just what I'm Frying For".

Haha, I never thought of that with "uttered" before. It always sounded fine to me. And no worries about the dash! We all have our own preferences when it comes to things. But if it had been a hard and fast grammatical rule, then I would have changed it to be correct.

And as for why I was worried I would cause offense, it was mainly because it's sometimes difficult to tell tone of voice through text, and I did not want you thinking that I was taking your suggestions and scoffing at them, or sweeping them under the rug without a second thought. I really do value your opinions, and you are a wonderful friend. I would hate to cause any offense.

:rainbowlaugh: So Starswirl invents fried dough?

I know whenever you post, Bard, that I am in for a treat. :3

Thank you very much, Wing! That's very kind of you to say. I certainly hope you will enjoy/have enjoyed this latest tale.

I love this. Starswirl is much like plenty of figures from history that concentrated so much work into doing the best they can, and the way they see a goal, that they are all too aware of their own flaws. That in the end they can't see why people think they are such a big deal. But in a way that is why we would love him.

7362705 I certainly have.

Very much agreed. He's not perfect by any means, but he is most definitely somepony for the others to look up to.
