Two ponies... two stories... two ends that lead to two beginnings.
When these ponies face the ends of their lives, they are forever altered in ways they never could have imagined.
This story elaborates on some things that took place in a Heroes of Equestria campaign and that can be found in Magical Melodies and Guardian Halo. They do not have to be read for this story to be understood and enjoyed.
Rated Teen for some mild language and for some blood spilled in battle, though it's fairly minor.

No worries, Protopony! I'm just happy that you've read and enjoyed, so let me start off by saying thank you for the favorites and for adding this to your "The Best of the Best" folder!
Sadly, a 100,000+ epic isn't likely for these characters for a few simple reasons. I took part in only two of the campaign meetings, and would have to get everything second-hand. Also, a good amount of what happened in the campaign was joke stuff, so it wouldn't translate well to the type of story I would like to do. Another reason is that the campaign was cancelled shortly after these events transpired because it became too drama-heavy and the group members were not enjoying it anymore.
However, there is good news as well! For starters, I've really been polishing Lyric's one-shot, and it's giving me ideas for a Halo one-shot as well. Secondly, I may decide to do a mini-epic that follows Lyric during one snippet of her adventures. So rest assured that more like this will likely be on its way. Someday.

They really have, more than I can truly convey or properly say. So just... thank you. For everything. Seriously.
First off, you really have no idea how deeply your words have touched me.
And honestly, I think you just helped me solve what is, to me, one of the great mysteries. Lyric is simply a wandering bard, so why do people connect with her so deeply? You have just explained it perfectly, put it all into perspective for me. For that, I am truly grateful and honored that you think of her so.
And also, I am glad that you were able to find Starchaser likable there. She was well-played by my friend mrdoompony and a well-rounded character, but she fell flat in my first attempts at writing her. So I tried to add little details here and there that would give a glimpse of how I saw her and how I interpret her.

I told you that it would be good. And it certainly is.
I was touched by the farewells between the members of the 'Lute Squad', reading how they came together and the journeys they shared, creating a bond between the characters, only to go their separate ways again... Now that is something that hits me home. I love it!.
Now, the Princesses have something to answer Lyric about Halo.
Which I doubt they can themselves, since they don't die, as Alicorns. But then again, Equestria is full of magic. Everything is pretty much possible.

And about the Princesses, it's also a challenge because Halo was also before their time. Not by much, but enough. Though, as we see in Guardian Halo, Lyric certainly did find the answers she was searching for.
