6711077 It's kind of like the face-huggers from Alien. They shove an egg down your throat and it ends up in your chest cavity. The two aren't connected but people don't seem to give a rat's after 35 odd years. It's called a contrivance; something that the writer does to suit the tone of the story.

Actually, the Alien xenomorph attaches the egg to the bronchial tubes, from which the newly hatched alien feeds on the host's blood until fully developed, then chews its way out through the sternum, much to the dismay and great pain of the host.
Remember, the human throat goes to both the stomach and lungs. It's why the facehuggers act as organic respirators while attached, keeping the host alive.
I ignored the warning and got exactly what I deserved.
Otherwise, it was well-written. So there's that.

Hi I found this story rather... hot on several levels. I really like this kinds of stories with parasites, corruption/mind break, and stuff. The goo eating was a new one and you pulled it off rather well. I too hope that this get's a sequel or an expanded version some time. Maybe the adult Changeling comes back to collect the young and/or feed her more goo.
