This story is a sequel to A Dress for Princess Twilight

When Twilight is called to Canterlot on royal business, she finds herself with a big problem. With a school science fair on the horizon, she can't leave the library unattended. Lucky for her, Pinkie is up for the challenge.

When Pinkie discovers just how hard it is to pull books. She finds herself with her own science fair project; To organize the books in a way that is easy for everypony, not just Twilight. Will she be able to do it? Or will Gummy find himself trying to talk sense into Pinkamina?

(Note, you don't have to read it's prequel to understand this story.)

Hope you're gonna post your fic into a lot of groups because this deserves to be seen, a lot

6563006 now that I have electricity yep.

6564132 I have never been one to follow a trend.

This was a nice and light story that really stuck Pinkie closer to her canon personality. Which I like a lot considering I could almost see this as a legitimate plot for an actual episode... All in all how the story goes and how you write your characters makes for a great read!

6567922 there is where I aim, I am pleased you enjoyed it.

6570591 just takes a bit of study. I learned it pretty fast.

That was fun to write.

Thanks for reading.

This is an interesting story, but the ending removed my suspension of disbelief a bit. If Twilight already knows about the Dewey Decimal System, why hasn't she Dewied the books herself? We know that Twilight loves organizing and reorganizing her books; surely this should have crossed her mind?

6625595 Personal hypothosis, She'd heard of it, but never found the exact method on which the system works. In the show, Twilight only just instilled that method in What about Discord?

I actually didn't think about it till after I'd published this. I wrote the whole thing in a single evening... And way past my own bedtime so I was writing with my brain asleep. Not the best idea, but it works for me. But I'm just gunna say, The system was out of use, and kinda lost. So while Twilight might have heard of it, she couldn't sort it that way because she couldn't find how exactly it worked.

For the record. In the USA, there are two main methods, Dewie Decimal, And Library of Congrass methods. I've not had the chance to work with the later, so I don't know how it works. But that's how all govermental, and College libraries are sorted, for the rest of the libraries, it's Dewie.

6683535 And a ton of fun. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Twilight sat down. “Spike, I think being a librarian just got easier. "

At least until an evil centaur comes on the scene.

I gotta say, I'm surprised you referred to Pinkie as 'unorganized'. Remember what was revealed in 'Party Pooped'?

Btw, what was it that prevented Rarity and Rainbow Dash from taking over the library?

7019723 I was keeping that episode in mind. But remember, this story is supposed to take place before that.

Rarity had a fashion emergancy, and Dash her flying... or that was her exuse. Rainbow isn't the most bookish pony.

This is part of a series I'm trying to do where the mane 6 trade jobs for a day... or week. I have more ideas for more, just haven't written them yet.

Thanks for reading.

Next I suppose Fluttershy is going to be doing Rainbow's weather duties. I doubt you'd put Rainbow in the line of fire with Fluttershy's animals again.

7020842 That is one of the ideas. :rainbowlaugh: I've also got one where the Mane 6 have switched bodies with their pets to capture a run-away monster from Tartarus. It'll be a while because it'll be a longer story. I've got a list of ideas that I'm working with. It's just a matter of which one asks to be written, and in what order.

I remember being taught the Dewey Decimal system when I was in grade school.

Still remember most of it, oddly enough.

It makes life a whole lot easier.
