Twilight,
I’m so, so sorry! I had to run back home and say something. I know I may end up missing most of my afternoon class, if not all of it, but I don’t care. I wasn’t really thinking straight this morning, and I caught myself at the L, but I didn’t want to rewrite my whole letter because I needed to get to class so I just sharpied it out
I don’t want you to think of me as some kind of weirdo, Twilight, but I don’t want to make excuses or lie to you either. I do have feelings for you that I haven’t felt about anyone before, and I’m truly sorry that I gave that away before I could even begin to know if you even remotely had the same feelings for me.
The truth is, I’m not just disappointed that I can’t just speak with you; it actually frustrates me. You’re one of the most special things that has ever come into my life, and it pains me that I have such little time and space to share everything I love with you.
As much as I don’t want this to alter our friendship, I’m afraid it very much has. Of course I want to continue writing, but I don’t want to force you to if you’re no longer comfortable. No matter how you respond, know that I value your friendship above all else, and I thank you so much for letting me into your life as well.

Love,
Toby
Hoom, hoom, rushing things a bit, aren't you laddie? love should be based on friendship, not infatuation.
For that matter, I believe Twilight has a fair few years on him, she's what? In her mid-twenties? She appeared to be undertaking post-graduate studies at the start of the show. If he's mid-way through Highschool, that puts him around 15-16 or so. While adorable, I don't think HMS Puppy Love is going to sail very far.
9267723 The idea is that he’s supposed to be in college, like around sophomore/Jr. year.
9267727
Huh. I could have sworn he was in Highschool. My mistake.
Well that fixes the age gap, or at least closes it to less than a decade. Now we only have to contend with a long-distance relationship carried out exclusively via letters.

Candace is going to have a fit.
Well so far so good toby
Toby admits that he has feelings! Now, to see what Twilight thinks of them.

What's an Ent doing here?
Well done, Toby. Excellent communication.
Man, I've been hooked on this story since the first chapter, or letter in this case. It's been fascinating to watch Toby and Twilight learn from each other and see their friendship blossom. Ah, but she's so perceptive; now the poor guy's caught prematurely in a situation he wasn't ready to deal with. I know Twilight well enough to know that no matter how she feels about him, she'll continue to be his friend. Honestly, I hope she does give him a shot. I know firsthand the struggle of a long distance relationship, but I've learned that if both parties are truly dedicated, they'll make it work somehow.
The question now is what will they eventually use as a more efficient means of communication. Twilight's intelligent enough to come up with several possibilities; would it be a magic journal akin to Sunset's like others have suggested, interdimensional Skype via enchanted crystals or something, or will they be fortunate enough to meet face to face somehow? I can't wait to see what you decide to do from here. Speaking of which, how exactly would the story format change accordingly?

Oh, I didn't consider that.
Lessons on the relations between sapience and terrestrial animals for Twilight!
Harry Potter is still a go, then? If Twilight could get over the abundant use of Dark Magic, in particular the Unforgivable Curses... oh, and genocide, too. It all depends on whether she'll react rationally or emotionally.
2 weeks. Damn.

Where is ups when you need them?
Dang this ship is going full throttle. Can't wait to see twilights reply!
Well that was quick.
(Well, that was... quick. But, cat's out of the bag now, no shoving it back in.
In truth, falling in love isn't all that hard. The trouble's making a long-term relationship out of it. And considering that he's got literally nothing but magical letter writing... with a horse princess... who he hasn't even seen... Well, I'm just saying that this relationship is going to have some pretty unique hurdles. If it can even get off the ground, it's real quick to drop the L-word, he was smart to cover it up and unfortunate that Twilight saw it anyways.
So... well, now we just need to see how Twilight reacts. The best version for them is if she also has those kinds of feelings, but there's no way to be sure. And the worst version... well, she closes off contact with him completely. If I received something like this, I would likely attempt to continue on with the friendship, strengthening that, without committing to or rejecting the possibility of love, wanting to get to know the individual more before deciding whether an attempt at romance can occur. But this is Twilight, and it's her decision... and we'll just have to see where that takes things.)
This is getting interesting by the letter! (The object, not the sign!)

I see what you did there! XD
9267931
Seen 101 Dalmations?
The live action one.
That relationship escalated MUCH faster!
I honestly hope this goes somewhere, I love the idea of our human protagonist and Twilight being in a relationship.
Oh! So that's what putting the L in spoiler tag was supposed to represent!
Dear God.....Everytime i come back there's always 5 or 6 new chapters....like jeez man calm down on the energy drinks XD
(For the record i really enjoy the story)
P.s: im just waiting for it to finish
P.s.s: keep up the great work :P
P.p.s.s: Hi :3

Wow... that just happened. It doesn’t really seem out of character, and I’d love to see where this goes, but damn. That just happened with out any build up or anything; it was kinda like real life in a way.
To all those who are saying that this is going too fast, I say this: It is entirely possible to fall in love this quickly.
Because I did.
I met my late fiancee online and over the course of a few weeks (around the same timeframe that this story takes place (Sept. 8th to the 21st), I knew I had found the one and I hadn't even met her IRL yet. Sadly it was never meant to be, but it is possible.
Happened to my parents too, They met in November and were Engaged by New Years and had 22 happy years together before my Father died.
The only reason it seems to be going too quickly is that relationships that progress this fast and succeed are uncommon.
9267723
In the 9th Chapter, he tells Twilight this:
9273991
There's the crucial part, and succeed. Instant love is indeed a thing, and beautiful when it lasts. But sometimes it doesn't. And the best way to avoid that failure is to cultivate a love rooted in a deep friendship. My own parents were good friends for near on a year before they started dating, the general response to the news was "took you long enough..."
So I've heard, it had honestly slipped my mind. Atch, my memory is horrible, and something about his letters struck me as teenaged.
Holy I did not see that coming!
You know at least hes up front about it. Honestly its better this way, you can totally love someone in that way and still be best friends!
(Love my amazing best friend)
