Author's Note: This story was written when an earlier version of Night Terrors was posted on this site. This story will be updated sometime in the near future to better reflect the events that transpire in the current version of Night Terrors. In the meantime, enjoy!
It has been two weeks after Misty’s harrowing events in the Never, also known as the land of dreams, and she has yet to find an answer as to what threatened it. Her desperation and frustration grow with every passing day. So when she is invited by a friend to a carnival, will Misty take the time to go? And could she set aside her fears and doubts long enough to enjoy it once she arrived?

I am really, really glad you think so! I was a tad nervous when I told you that the first draft was ready, but I'm so happy that you liked it, and that you still do! And don't ask me how I knew about the rabbit plush. It really was just a cute idea! Or maybe I am reading your mind?
I am also so glad that we are collaborating, and I cannot wait to see what comes next! I am honored that you wanted Lyric to be a part of this journey, and that you still do.
And as for the story being told from Misty's point of view, as soon as I started to think of the story as a whole, it just had to be that way. It would have been a disservice to do otherwise as the tale would have only been half-told. 
I'll admit I was a bit nervous as to what you would think about that when I sent you the first draft, but I was so happy that you were happy! But for the fanart... you seriously made my day with that, and I cannot thank you enough! 
Also, thanks much for catching that typo. It was correct in the Doc I shared with you, but FIMFiction formatting is weird and closed the gap between the paragraphs when I italicized the letter. But it's all fixed now! I also added a link for Cold, Unhappy, Far-Off Things in the author's notes so people can find it.

As to the downvote, this is not the first time it's happened. My guess is that some people don't like OC stories, or there is some other reason that I am not seeing and has not been explained to me. But you know what? I'm just grateful for readers like you who do appreciate my work!

Awwww, thank you! You really are too kind. It took me forever to find an ending that worked for me. Kept having to play with wording, with the emotions I wanted to convey. What Misty would be thinking about, what she would be feeling. But the part that says "shrilling rainbow of fireworks"? That, and a few other select bits, were all Emylia. I couldn't have done this without her.
As for if Lyric will be in all of the Shadowmancer series, she's not in Cold, Unhappy, Far-Off Things except in mention. As for the rest of it, that's all up to 6213513. It's going to be a surprise for me as well, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
