The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

What happens when one pony's passion becomes an obsession? When their desires outweigh their joys? When what this pony thought they wanted leads them down a path they never foresaw?

Note: This story has nothing to do with the movie Music of the Heart. I didn't even know it existed until I searched the story title a few minutes before posting. If I can think of a better title for my story, I'll change it.

These stories of yours are really lovely - very old school fable style to them.

Thanks so much! I'm never really sure with how to place the quotations, so I'll keep that in mind for the future. And I'm glad to hear the imagery works for you. I'm always wondering if there's enough. :twilightsheepish: Also, thank you again for the favorite!

Wonderful. I love how you describe music.

Hahaha, awww, thank you! And thanks for the favorite!

Well done. Apparently Lyric had a less than bright past, but I'm glad to have her telling us these stories now

Thank you, Kestrel! Yes, she was not always the charming bard we know and love today, but she has certainly learned her lesson from that time in her life. Thanks for reading!

No problem. Been waiting on a meeting here at work, so I had a bit of time to read.

Ah yes, I know what you mean, mate. X3

This was really nice. It's not big, or fancy, just a simple tale with a heartfelt moral, and a overall essence to it that just wraps you into the story itself. Wonderful job Lyric:heart:

Thank you so much, Watercolor! I am truly honored that you feel as such.

And thank you for adding it to your favorites!

That's quite a self-critiquing backstory, surely the first one I have ever seen on this site. However, that takes away nothing from the lesson and art skill trapped in those words  Great to learn more about Lyric.
Reading your stories is always a pleasure, they flow so nicely one doesn't even notice they already reached the end!

Thank you so much, my friend! I am very glad to know that you have enjoyed this, and the lessons within.

The funny thing about this story is that, when I first told it to my very special somepony, it was originally going to be about somepony else entirely. But when I got to the end, I thought having it about who the story turned out to be about would be an interesting twist.

Thank you also for the favorite!

8050165 You're welcome, my friend
Honestly, the way of being unsure if the tale is about herself or someone completely different teased me through the whole read :pinkiehappy:

Haha, I'm glad to hear that! I was afraid that it would be too obvious. :twilightsheepish:
