What people who commit suicide don't seem to understand is that they are robbing those who care about them from them. It's a sad thing that springs from selfishness.
What judgemental people fail to understand is people who are driven to attempt suicide often feel like there is no other recourse, that their life has hit such a rock bottom that they have absolutely nothing to live for, and are nothing but a burden on others.
Depression that leads to suicide is a very real illness, and it won't be solved by calling these poor people selfish. We are ill, not selfish.
I don't think anyone was trying to be judgemental here. What both of you say is true.
