The rebellion begins in bloddy, gorey style. The battle scene and build up were well written, in many ways this reminds me of the Fantasy Warhammmer Novels. Theres a good bit of politic and character development alongside the war and death which makes the people involved alot more depth. Good luck with Part 2.
And so the rebellion starts, not with a guerilla battle, but with a battlefield extermination aided by what is nothing short of a war demigod. All that to the gloriously victorious Mudholes battle song.
I REALLY hope someone edits this with the care it deserves. Even with this amount of grammar errors, it sets the blood pumping.
Though one thing I want cleared out: when you said "priority is to rescue the females", you mean the non-combatant ones, yes?
I am the only one who thinks that Dainn treats Spike in a son like manner? A very evil twisted father-son relationship, but I think that Dainn actually wishes Spike was his son.
“We return to the Crystal Empire,” Dainn ordered with a heavy, mournful tone. “Spike shall receive a kingly burial,” almost every soldier around Dainn gasped in surprise as well as his two sons. “Father, you can’t be serious!” Calvin snapped at his father. “Even in death you favour that worthless liza--” Calvin stopped talking when a blue aura of magic appeared around his neck, lifted him up and squeezed tightly making the prince fight for air. “His name was Spike, Calvin,” Dainn said loudly with an expression of pure anger and a tone just to match. “Spike was a thousand times the males you and the rest of your pathetic brothers will ever be!” Dainn snarled squeezing the neck of his son even tighter. “He was meant to be my one true heir! His undying loyalty to me caused his death; I should’ve sent you and your idiotic brothers to die here instead!” Dainn let go of Calvin, whom started gasping for precious air. “And if you value your life, my dear son, you will keep your snout shut or I will switch you and throw you into a dirt farm myself!” Dainn then glanced at his other son and glared him. Akios swallowed loudly and averted his gaze. “Now, let us return.”
It official this is best incarnation of Dainn ever!
6098545 After what Creslin told him he had his doubts about the caribou. And with the power of the Crystal Heart (a power that purifies Dark Magic) he put his theory to the test, and it failed.
So now Spike basically has no reason to hold back anymore against the caribou and, as Creslin told him, finding a caribou stag immune to the brainwash like them will be unlikely.
6101745 Not quite. The caribou are that way because the dark magic the Horned King used to turn them that way in the first place (800 or so years ago) melded into their very core changing them into what they are now. They are not being controlled by the dark magic because they are already one with it, well, 99.9% of them anyways. They have "free will", but it's limited to their mentallity which is even more present because it became their "culture".
Or in other words. They think and believe what they are doing is "right" or as "things should be", both females and males that aren't like Creslin, and are uncapable of feeling even the littlest bit of remorse for what they do to females, males that fight back and even to animals.
6102066 Their moral, minds, culture, views, evreything you can think of; all of it morphed to fit their depravity. And Dainn can spread it as well, though not as controlled and effective in the beggining. The longer the "exposure" the more it will mix with the victim until they turn into one of them.
6102143 But what confuses me is what about newborn Caribou? Would they have this kind of thinking as the magic passes onto the next of kin? Does it need to be applied to the child once he/she reaches a certain age? What if the child has never been with any Caribou but was raised by another species, would it still affect them regardless of what species he/she was raised and grew up with? Would the child need to have the spell constantly put on them to have those thoughts until they think it's really alright?
6102153 If you go back to the talk with Creslin she says that the dark magic spread roots from the very beggining and the new generations already are tainted by it, regardless of where they live, who raised them, etc. The only ones that are free from it are the ones that are immune to it but that is a 1 in a million chance according to Creslin. (I mean, there are millions of caribou and only little more than 50 are immune, for stags I mean, there are more females, the black caribou cow ones, but they have no hope on doing anything, and even if they could, they are impossibly outnumbered)
6102153 Also, I'm answering your questions because the answers (for the most part) were already established or hinted at. But for the upcoming outcome? Well, wait for it if you have doubts about that! And thanks for taking your time to read my work!
Wait, I'm confused about something. So the Element Bearers are freed, but this is post Tirek. The Rainbow Power has already bonded to their souls, it's basically the Elements of Harmony but they're never ever taken off. So why, now that they're back to themselves, can't they just power up and have Dainn taste the rainbow?
6138681 Mainly because before they were brainwashed (4 of them) and with the help of the Tree the power inside them ignited just enough to free them. But they are broken, traumatized and unstable. They are not well mentally enough to openly challenge Dainn or any caribou for that matter, except for Applejack and Rainbow.
It took me a bit to read this new chapter bur I must say it was excellant. The Mane Six meeting with Spike, Dainn searching for his 'true' son, the attack against the Caribou. All excellent. And it looks like I was right, the Caribou deserve to die for there sins. They are irredeamable from the start. And the jury I still say has no right to judge him. He did what he needed to.
If there's one thing I can gripe about this chapter is how they still see Spike's actions as war crimes. You don't see people being prosecuted for being anti-Nazi and killing Nazis, right?
Side-note: Let's be civil about any possible Nazi discussions here.
I need a hero! I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night! He's gotta be strong, And he's gotta be fast, And he's gotta be fresh from the fight! I need a hero! I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light! He's gotta be sure, And it's gotta be soon, And he's gotta be larger than life! (Larger than life!)
love the looking for group reference!

Fuckin' AWESOME!
Words fail me. I loved every second of it.
6091163 You see what I did there? Hehehe.
6091189 Thanks!
6091475 I hope someone takes it as well! As for your question, yes.
6091701 Thanks!
6091921 Glad I pleased your inner bloodthirst!
I am the only one who thinks that Dainn treats Spike in a son like manner? A very evil twisted father-son relationship, but I think that Dainn actually wishes Spike was his son.
6092136 When your flesh and blood sons are a pair of sniveling cowards it makes a kind of twisted sense.
It official this is best incarnation of Dainn ever!
Fucking Slaughter the world cameo, been good 3-4 years since i have heard that. Well done.
So wait, are some of the caribou also a subject/victim to the brainwashing or is it just a theory that Spike failed to confirm?
6098545 After what Creslin told him he had his doubts about the caribou. And with the power of the Crystal Heart (a power that purifies Dark Magic) he put his theory to the test, and it failed.

6102022 So basically the magic was so effective, that it reworked their moral?
6102066 Their moral, minds, culture, views, evreything you can think of; all of it morphed to fit their depravity. Spike is going to getting medievil on their ###. I Forgot to fave this story

Then again, the canon one has zero personality anyways.

6169359 Lets not forget this is Equis, a world where if you lie, you get run out of town! (Trixie)
Ouch, so some victims will need to be killed...
Nice gory beginning of the revolution. I kept humming nowhere to run nowhere to hide from the Warriors.
I think Spike went insane, at least he's now truly kicking ass.
Well buck, this was just smart and fun, I'll be excited when Spike finally saves his mom and aunt, I really liked this chapter.
AHHHH I love you.
SLAUGHTER THE WORLD
Ohohoho YES! Let the slaughter of evil begin. I don't care what anyone says, people who do this to evil are heroes.
That was so bucking satisfying....
That’s a damn shame, because...
I need a hero!
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night!
He's gotta be strong,
And he's gotta be fast,
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight!
I need a hero!
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light!
He's gotta be sure,
And it's gotta be soon,
And he's gotta be larger than life!
