You could fix this up a little. The timing was a little too fast, you could've explained the Forerunner history and Spike's history a bit, and there are a few holes in the story, such as Twilight could teleport her scroll to Celestia, but she would waste a lot of energy, and Spike was kind of Out Of Character, or OOC for short. However, I like the story so far, so keep it up.

Cannonly, Spike (biologically) was a few years younger than Twilight-since she hatched him as a foal.
However, he was "technically" a "baby" by dragon standards since he wasn't growing. Remember "Secret of My Excess"? How he "grew up"? Since he isn't hoarding, he isn't growing like other dragons, like say Garble.
Don't forget that the Librarian altered Spike's DNA, so that his body matches his (pony standard) biological age

This is just a prologue, more Forerunner history will be covered.
Spike's character change was due to what happened to him: basically he had his heart crushed, and then was given (through verbal means) Forerunner knowledge, forced to age, armed, and given the monumental task of protecting a planet where some chaotic event happens nearly every week.
Right now, his heartbreak is making him want to isolate himself (I've seen it happen to friends) and the huge responsibility thrust upon him further isolates himself.
It'll take time and coaxing to get him to open up, but then he'll be more "grown up" than before becoming the Didact of Sacrifice.

Actually, I'm open to explore any straight Spike pairing, but I like to ask the readers on what they think the pairing will be.
I'll actually be changing things after I do some work.

4968985 I'm leaning towards Luna because of her past... but I'd kinda understand Dancer, but it'd feel more like a rebound girl... as for Twi, it'd feel like a cross between her using him to get info about them and a mother/son pairing...
but as to the story itself, I love it, even if I thought that he was given the stuff way too quickly and it seemed like he automatically knew what to do with all of it... plus, we don't know if Rarity's recanted or even learned what he was talking about yet, but that might be shown later...

If she doesn't win, the dragoness will become an "older sister" to Spike.
I want to see SpikexLuna. I think they can identify with one another. Spike wanted to be loved by Rarity, and Luna wanted to be loved by her subjects.

I have an idea! What if Equestria is a "shield world" (like Requiem).
That would explain Why Celestia/Luna can control the sun/moon and still have gravity on the planet.

With Luna there is a lot of things that can push them together.

And when I saw this summary and title I was like uhnn I'm gonna enjoy this gonna keep an eye on this 1 you got a lot if themes I love.

id go for number 4 spike x oc dragoness, and you should have the infinity arrive at the planet due to dectecting forerunner artifacts
Looks like everything is off to a good start. I would have to say either the OC dragoness or Moondancer. I would pick Luna but there is hardly any pairings with the other two and I feel that Twilight is better off as a sister or something in this fic.
This... intrigues me...
Well, the talk the princesses will have with Spike will be an interesting one at least.

Because I've yet to see a single one of these. NOT ONE. Seriously, I don't understand how fan made ponies get a lot of fame, yet Moondancer isn't even in any of this. Derpy was originally nothing BUT an animation error in the background that became popular and thus, Hasbro decided to include her so as to sell more toys and thus, I just can't understand how this is even possible.
Button Mash was popular for a time and he too was just a background pony. This just makes NO sense whatsoever. Someone PLEASE explain this to me.
Spike&Luna: Celestia might say, "Does a princess not deserve love as well? Does the fact that she has power mean that all that care for her are seeking to control such power or to help use it for certain gains? Is this not the very reason she sought power in the first place: because she was NOT loved?" or something like that...
Spike&Dragoness: I mostly see it that his egg was only abandoned because it was stolen (unknown by who, where, when (could've even been so long ago that the dragons you were talking about are actually his great-grand-niece(s) and/or nephew(s)) , if parent dragons are/were alive at the time, or even how many eggs were in the clutch) and as for finding the dragon, possibly during his travels to re-activate the tech of which most species have at least 1 major town within, and some techs that aren't in one (which he gives to the ones that most need it) he stumbles upon a dragoness loner when he's "in her territory", when he's really waiting for his men to finish recon for the nearest towns for this abandoned tech...
and 1 last thing: the pic would've been a lot better as a diagram of the inside/layers of it, because as it is, it's practically indistinguishable from a planet that's ... what's the right word? I can only recall from The Dragon and The Force where whole planets are each just one big city: no grass or natural land, just metal buildings...

Well I leaning towards Luna and about the king/prince there are many titles you can use meaning that he's her mate but he just doesn't hold power over the political aspect ect ect

Derpy was pointed out to the animators by a fan an she-in a way-became a game between the animators and fans. A "Where's Waldo?" character.
Button Mash was a side character colt playing an arcade game in the "hearts and hooves" day episode that appeared for about two seconds. A fan gave him a backstory-connecting the audience and show-.....until Hasbro lawyers forced him to shut it down.
That was a stupid move on Hasbro' s part. In a way, hey cut off a good way to advertise their own show and got a lot of people mad at them. They did not go after "fan works" giving their series a negative view- such as a the " .MOV" series.
