Pretty good chapter.
I'm sorry, I know she's the hotheaded one, but Rainbow has little ground to stand on for blaming Sunset's condition on Twilight. This whole series of events, from Princess being trapped in this world, to Twilight being desperate enough for some kind of companionship to sleep with Flash, to poisoning herself are all pretty much the result of Sunset's own actions(especially the last one), all because she had to take out her resentment of Princess on Twilight in a way the pretty much ruined her, and her brother's, lives.
I'm not saying I want Sunset to die here(maybe Shimmer though, because...holy crap what a bitch), but Rainbow blaming Twilight here is just plain wrong.
After reading all this...I know what I want to see. I want to see Twilight get the life that she was denied due to a twist of fate. I want to see Princess and Sunset return to Equestria. I want Shining Armor to learn the truth, and maybe get a little bit less fucked up in the head (I'd love to see him and Cadance get back together, but that's just wishful thinking at this point). I want to see a massive Break The Haughty moment for Shimmer (whom you are really good at making us hate).
Aside from all that, you're quite the wonderful writer, and while I'm not usually into fics of this nature (the sheer soul-crushing darkness, not the clop), this has been quite enthralling.

I'm sorry, but you're really pissing me off here. HOW IS ANY OF THIS TWILIGHT'S FAULT!? And why does everyone seem dead set on somehow making it her fault!? Unless I missed something, the most horrible thing she's done in these stories was accidentally pretend to be Princess so she could sleep with Flash! And THAT has next to NOTHING to do with the current situation!
Again, unless I missed something, Twilight didn't poison Sunset herself, she did that to HERSELF! If anything Twilight had completely legit reasons for still being angry at her actions. This wasn't some minor message swapping that made her an her friends not talk to each other until two minutes of comparing notes cleared things up. SUNSET RUINED TWILIGHT'S LIFE, destroyed her relationship with her brother and parents, and, by proxy torpedoed Shining's relationship with Cadance!
Yes, Sunset poisoning herself was not a good thing, but Twilight didn't feed her arsenic muffins, like her own "friend" did to her. Heck, Twilight's never once acted like Sunset's poisoning was a good thing, so it's really getting my goat that you're having everyone come down on her like she personally tried to murder Sunset herself!

It's just bad luck for Twilight that the friends on her side are practically order and chaos incarnate, respectively. This'll be addressed in the confrontation.

That actually makes it worse, at least for her non-CHS 'friends,' because that means they apparently heard rumors that Twilight poisoned Sunset, or caused her to poison herself...and completely believed them without hearing anything from Twilight to the point that Twinkleshine felt she had to 'teach her a lesson' by also poisoning Twilight. 1. Only Twinkle poisoned her. Colgate got PISSED at Twinkle for it. "Friends" plural is just flat out false.
2. Twinkle didn't poison Twilight as a revenge for Sunset, she poisoned Twilight to dissuade her from committing suicide by poison.
3. It's kinda obvious that Twinkle is a little BATSHIT CRAZY.
4. People tend to act irrationally when lives are at stake. Death is kinda a big deal.
I am somewhat surprised that they havent asked for Twi's side of the story, but right now I'm just assuming they're still in the "knee jerk reaction" phase, and that Princess crashed the house too soon for them to get to that line of reasoning.
Ugh. Finally caught up. This ship NEEDS to happen. Like right now. I ship Twilight Sunset SO FUCKING HARD.
That being said, I am so weirded out by this, because it's basically turned into, like, a cross-dimensional love nonagon. (Hahacwutididthar) But if I'm going to speculate, I'm expecting this to basically result in Flash x Princess, Shimmer x Shining Armor, and Twilight x Sunset.
The constant references to homophobia practically SCREAM that Twilight's narratively gonna be overcoming those fears shortly. But I doubt a plain ol' apology from Sunset will do the trick. Shimmer will be involved somehow. Considering her fantasies about Twilight, I doubt she would pass up the chance for a threesome. It'll probably be a "holy shit your guys's dumbshit sob story is retarded, you two need to get over it and have make up sex already. NOW FUCKING KISS."
And then she will join in.

Unfortunately for her, that ally is Twinkleshine.

You know what happens if Sunset were to die? She'd be put out of her misery whereas Twilight will have to live with the consequences of Sunset's machinations for the entirety of her life. So I think that Sunset poisoning herself is both cowardly, and a desperate attempt to bring sympathy to her cause. If Sunset really wanted to make up for her previous wrongdoings, then she should let Twilight hate her, know that this would never change, and swallow the fact that this will rightfully haunt her forever.
I know that sounds harsh, but it just really bothers me when someone claims to be sorry yet refuses to accept punishment for their actions. This story just really touches the side of me that believes in vengeance.
It's a good story though! I find it very entertaining.
Sooooo I had the first fic in this series open in a background tab for like ever but only today got to finally read it. And then the rest as well, right up until to where you are now. What a way to spend an afternoon. I must say, had I known how great this was gonna be I would have read it weeks ago. I honestly did not expect to be blown away the way I was, and I am so glad that I specifically set some hours aside just for reading fanfiction while I'm home alone. In all seriousness this has got to be one of the best fics I ever read (talking collectively about the entire series here). You made me laugh, you made me cry, you made me run in circles trying to comprehend what I just read, you made me... several other things as well if you catch my drift...
And now here I am, fully caught up, standing in line with the rest of your fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter, oh so wishing it was here right now. Overall I can't praise this series enough and you have well earned yourself a place among my favorite authors.

Despite thoroughly enjoying all the stories in this verse so far and following you, I somehow managed to not know a continuation was released until now. Well, that problem is rectified.

This. This part, and beyond is where this story went from good to awesome. The came here hoping for a descent FlashLight sexscene and found something faaaar more epic. But the sex is good to.
Well I was going to go to bed, but this is more important. I can't wait to see Shining and Twilight finally reunite. Gonna be some shit going down there. Plus, I don't know if you plan to include it, but seeing Twilight's parents react would be such incredible schadenfreude. "Hey sorry we refused to tell you anything about your possibly-dead brother, kept you as close to lockdown as possible, and treated you like a rabid dog we didn't have the heart to put down for what turned out to be no reason."
I'm surprised I managed to read as much of this chapter as I did. Like the previous Shimmer scene, I was thoroughly unaroused by this rape.
I don't know what you plan to do with this in the long term, but I hope it ends in a happy Princess, Twilight and Sunset as well as an unhappy Shimmer who leaves and never comes back.

Woo, man, it was tough getting through the last half of this chapter. Made me feel a bit ill. Still, I have to admit, it was well done from a narrative perspective and really got into the characters' heads in a... unique way. The idea that Sunset (and Shimmer) have such a strong need for what they perceive as justice that they can't move on from guilt unless they are punished (and disproportionately to the crime, it seems like) is an interesting idea. There are certainly some people who have this issue, even if it's kinda messed up, and it sometimes takes a good deal of therapy to work through that.

In fact I find your Narrative and plot so enticing that it has greatly influenced and improved my own writing. Keep up the good work and take care!

Okay, that's some damned fine writing. The whole imagined violence, imagined violence, suddenly real violence really added a lot to that scene. Would have been a lot more mundane without it.

I expect Shimmer will have more of a character redemption than she's already had. I expect there will be some changeling shenanigans. I am expecting that at least one of the Twilights will have sex with at least one of the Sunsets. Not too sure beyond that.
I would love to see this series keep right on chugging along, as this is easily my favorite "clop" series, and even one of the top series overall. But I am anticipating the "final chapters" nonetheless.
