Alright. Jeanne's character finally checks out for me. She's alright now. Two thumbs way up for the whole chapter. It was short but beautiful.
You know what my problem with Jeanne's character is? Hastings wasn't the only one who had that view. It had been ingrained into the society of the Pokemon verse very deeply by the point that our story takes place. Now sure, Hastings is a big public face of it, but the fact that she keeps referring to it being 'his' views and his alone annoys the hell out of me.
5369720 She refers to it as "his" views because he is the one she adopted them from, learned those views from as her idol. Her statement is a personal statement.

Yeah she essentially listened to him because he was the one in charge of the Rangers, the ones she thought had the best chance to find her son. It may have been a popular view of society as a whole, but she got her grade-A steaming Tauros fecal matter straight from the tap.

I shouldn't enjoy playing to people's expectations and then completely subverting them, but I do!
See, I'm not a needlessly cruel monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.
There are future plot lines behind nearly every element in my story thus far. Every single thing can be examined and re-examined as future plot becomes present chapters.
There's just one...strike that, two more things I have to do so when the stars align the drea-

These are the wrong notes. Pardon me.

Sort-of, kind-of. I didn't have that in mind when writing the poem, though. I was thinking more of a certain wizard from the windy city more than what I've written.
Welp, after almost a week I FINALLY got over my little bout of "Continuity Anxiety" regarding the Rocket Trio and managed to read the last 5 chapters last night; lemme start off by saying that I'm truly sorry for ever doubting you. I'm still quite curious as to how the got from running a circus to alone in a desert, but you handled the personalities and interactions of those three absolutely perfectly. It was great to see some character development on Jessie's part and I think I sense an upcoming conversation between her, James, and Meowth where she states that Bit's plan to re-invent PokEarth technologies on Equus to be the biggest breakthrough since "Einstein invented the lightbulb" (ignorant of the fact that it was Edison who stole the patent for the lightbulb from someone smarter and weaker than him that most history books don't really care enough about to name) or something like that. I also rather liked how Vincent immediately realized the irony of the situation after his little "experiment" on Meowth (hopefully the family of Nurem and the Rocket trio can exchange their respective sob-stories later on). But my favorite moment has to be the conversation between Vincent and Wobbuffet, which was friggin' hilarious BTW (I should've known he was messing with them all this time with that whole "Woooooooobbuffet!!" thing for all these years).
