In the continuing shake-up of Canterlot following the dramatic return of Princess Luna from her thousand-year exile, Lieutenant Shining Armor receives a significant promotion within the Royal Guard, as well as a personal assignment from Princess Celestia that echoes his own younger sister's assignment to Ponyville. The "magic of friendship" is to continue its work in the recovery of Princess Luna, and guess who's been put in charge of that operation?

Hmm, not bad.

Since this is a slice of his life in the guard, you could put that tag up for this story

Is there another sequel?

I liked it, and the one before it. Seems like a very plausible outcome.

If I can offer one thing to look out for, it's that you mixed your tenses up a bit, switching between past and present tense. It's usually best to pick one for the entire story, as one is telling a story about what happened, and the other is telling a story about what is happening right now, and it can get a little confusing using both.

4829047 Working on it right now, in fact.

Nice! :pinkiehappy:
good to see you're working hard!

Well, this kind of explains where Shining Armor was during the first season. Nice tie-in.

I'm pretty sure uploading individual chapters as separate fics is frowned upon, you know.

"I have been informed that Princess Celestia has a personal debriefing for the Lieutenant Captain regarding his new assignment...."

Why is he being debriefed about an assignment that he hasn't even begun yet?

Debriefing is when you get information from someone who has just come back from doing something, telling them about what they are going to do is briefing.

I need a little work to clean up some of the tenses here
