I like this story quite a lot.
A note, though; there is a present tense and a past tense to verbs. Some people prefer to use past tense narration, and some prefer to use present tense narration for their stories. The most prevalent is past tense, but present tense works too. However, it is very important that you not switch back and forth repeatedly between them, especially not when the switch occurs mid-paragraph. This is the third of your stories I have added to my favorites list, and I don't think you did this in any of the others. Was this the first one you wrote?
It's a great story, but you might want to fix the repeated tense changes in your non-dialogue text (finally found the right words to express what I meant by "narration".
