Good god. This was great. As a man who loves shooting big guns, I can completely understand her need to fire off a few rounds when angered.
Now, as someone who can't give you a proper critique (I'm horrible at writing them, yet decent at them verbally), I can safely say that this is a well written one shot, with good grammar, few (if any) spelling errors, and interesting head cannon.
I will say that the one thing that bugged me was the whole build up to the shooting range, aka, the rather abusive nature she has.
What can I say? As an older brother, and frequent baby sitter, I'm not okay with child abuse, verbal or otherwise....
Still, excellent job once again, Sir Hat.

I'm not saying that's myself, but I had to deal with a lot of Murphy's Law being invoked by my ignorant coworkers for over a month before I explained what karma and the law have to do with each other. Before I did so, I recieved numerous cuts and burns, nearly broke every bone in both hands, had to pay extra rent because of inflation, had to deal with a verbally abusive stand-in manager, and had to work until closing every day that I worked for almost that entire time as well.

I had an alternative ending idea where Octavia's rage continues for weeks, and results in the uprising of mutant watermelon plants. Octavia then Rambo's the entire world's mutant watermelon population into extinction, with flamethrowers and machineguns. She also has stallions everywhere to keep her sated in her bloodlust-loving, violence-spewing spree.
