Does anyone play the MLP mobile game? My friend code is a49657.

E

Not everypony likes colt bands. But Twilight has always loved them. So when she gains her own castle, she turns one of its rooms into a Chamber of Colt Bands.

Will she be able to inaugurate it without any unpleasant surprises?

Written in about half an hour due to writer's block and boy band music. Dedicated to all people (and ponies) who love (or love to hate) boy bands.

Also contains some implied FlashLight.

Well, I laughed, anyway!

I, for some reason, have an album of theirs on my iPad. Where I'm reading.

... I hate you.

D'aww, Twily, you so adorkable!

I like. Being a former secret fan of boy bands in my youth, (n'sync was where it was at) I appreciate the story. I do feel that it could use polishing and the dialogue is a little static but for a quick piece of flash fiction inspired by pop music it could have been worst. Either way you earn a fav and an upvote for this little nostalgia trip.

Boy bands and Flash in the same story? Something tells me it's not the best combination. Don't take this the wrong way though. It's just that both are easily disliked by certain people.

Did that take me out of the experience? Of course not. I don't mind Flash, and I thought he actually had some personality here, if any. I can relate (a tiny bit) with him in this, having a few guilty pleasure boy band songs myself.

I don't listen to boy bands. They're not my thing, but I come across a good song every now and then. I don't hate them, since I don't listen to them. I'm not one to judge solely on what they are just from looking at them, but not everyone shares my view. It's why their songs are guilty pleasures only. If I share the fact I liked them, then yeah...

As for this story, I thought it was great, even though it was short. I laughed a couple of times. I kept imagining at points what would have happened if the same thing happened, but it was another pony instead of Flash. I dunno, it just gave me some thoughts of my own. I don't get the 'implied FlashLight' though. Are you referring to a couple? I didn't see a trace of it really, except for a potential part right at the very end. I'm afraid to say I couldn't laugh at the Backstreet Boys thing though. I don't know them, I don't listen to them, so I couldn't understand those parts. The rest of this kind of made up for that though. Take a green thumb.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't go for a FiW B.B.B.F.F. reference though.

This was just too cute and too fun. :rainbowlaugh:

I used to be pretty big on Backstreet Boys. In fact, I've probably still got a CD or two of theirs kicking around somewhere...

CURSE YOU UNLOCKED DOORS!:twilightangry2:

You know for a story written as a result of writer's block, it isn't bad. It's funny and doesn't drag out.
Also Twilight liking boy bands is strange yet at the same time. . .oddly fitting :twilightoops:

4477197 Good! Also, aren't you the guy who wrote about Flash, Trend, and Cheese stealing waffles? :pinkiehappy:

4477211 In a good way or bad? :rainbowderp:

4477867 4477332 4477216 Twilight has always wanted to be accepted despite her secret love of boy bands. She'd really appreciate that

4477225 4480732 Thanks for that, even though I really don't want to have too much trouble with writer's block :twilightblush:

4478168 I can sympathize with you, bro

4477308 I'm surprised too Yeah, this was the result of writer's block, so it was never going to be a masterpiece in the first place. I'm still happy that some people enjoyed it :yay:

4481025 Ah, writer's block comes and goes. Sometimes it's only for a little bit and sometimes it just won't go away. Don't let it frustrate you. Sometimes just getting away from a story or just writing something silly like this can help a lot.

4481025 The lady, but yes! I'm responsible for the waffle fic.
4477308 I can kind of understand putting "implied Flashlight" in the long description to warn people off. It's not that there's much of anything there, but Flashlight makes those people see red in a way you would not believe. Flash on his own is good for at least five auto-downrates, unless the story is called "Twilight Sparkle Shoves Flash Sentry Off A Cliff And Listens For The Echo." On the other hand, it probably wouldn't matter, as the auto-downrates will happen long before those people get through the long description.

4481234 Oh, okay, and I loved that story :pinkiehappy:

4481234 4477308 It actually had a downvote the very moment it was approved. I'm not saying that the approver is a Flash hater, (It was Obselescence, by the way) but it's worth noting.

Also, there's some guy who enjoys finding Flash Sentry fics and downvoting every comment. I don't think he's seen this one yet, but he'd definitely strike if he could.

4481450 Nah, it could have been anybody. Flash comes in for a lotta hate, which is funny for such a relatively bland character. Someone once called him "the most hated character in the fandom," and I thought that was hilarious, but it turns out there's a certain truth to it!

I'm not complaining, by the way. Without being a troll about it, I know exactly what's going to happen when I stick the Flash tag on a story, even though I've never used him as a romantic lead. Writing Flash the waffle thief was a barrel of fun and I wouldn't have missed it.

4481472 Heh. I think a comment I got on my other story Everything Has Changed displays that Flash-hate perfectly:

Scootaloo having an abusive family would still be better than being related to Flash Sentry

Amusingly, I think being bland makes him a lot of fun to work with in fanfics, because he has so little personality that you can write him in any way you like and not be wrong :scootangel:

Anyway, I'm glad you wrote that, because I definitely enjoyed it

You know, I think Flash summed up the story just as well - very silly, but still fun. It made me smile, & what more can i ask for?

Well, I liked it. Kinda short, kinda cheesy, but still pretty good and likely to catch a bad rap. Just like boy bands.

I laughed at the end. that interaction would be hard not to laugh at while reading. nicely done.

Can I ask you something that involves with this story?

I was expecting her to order him to make-out with the Princess of Friendship.

Your horse-pun names are actually pretty funny. So, is Nick Caballus supposed to be a pun on Nick Carter? I personally would have gone with Nick Canter, but that's just me. Not a bad headcanon all in all.

6564831 Yeah, I probably should have gone with that.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Now this was silly. Surprised Spike wasn't here though
