This is awesome - I like how in character you made Diamond Tiara while at the same time making her relatable.
Watch out, Spike. It looks like you have competition.
That was a great story. Your scene descriptions might use a bit of polishing, but I think you more than made up for it with your dialogue and characterization. This was one of those fanfics that gets the voices of the characters just right, so that I could actually hear them speaking like they do in the actual episodes.
Also, I dare say this was one of the best portrayals of Diamond Tiara I've come across. I like how you showed her having a nice side, while at the same time not forgetting just how selfish and downright nasty she can be. It's kinda rare to find a writer who can keep that balance as well as you did here.
Thank you. I was really getting tired of seeing stories turn her into this out of control super-bully who is universially disliked, even though it's pretty clear she's actually rather popular with the other kids.
All in all, this was a very sweet and well put-together little story. It's emotional, but not overly so, and you kept the feelings and reactions of everypony very believable and in character. This is absolutely going into my favorites. Good job.

2.For half the story I thought you were going to make Diamond fall in love with Sweetie, not Rarity

And I wondered how many others noticed that scene of Alula BEING NICE to Diamond Tiara (look at Diamond's face, she's in SHOCK).
There's the fact Silver Spoon doesn't try to assert herself, she just goes along Diamond Tiara's schemes, reinforcing Diamond Tiara's idea that what she's doing is okay.

Diamond Tiara gazed at Rarity lovingly as Sweetie Belle approached her big sister.
"Hey, sis," said Sweetie Belle. "Diamond Tiara made this neat doll of you." As she gave Rarity the doll, Diamond Tiara watched in confusion. She made no such doll and she wondered what Sweetie Belle was up to.
"Oh, what a darling doll," said Rarity. "Thank you, Diamond, it's lovely."
"Y-You're welcome," said Diamond, smiling. She was not adverse to earning brownie points wherever she could find them.
"Oh... there's just one thing," said Rarity, examining the doll further. "A minor detail, really."
"Is it about its cutie marks?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"What's wrong with its cutie marks?" asked Diamond Tiara.
Rarity turned the doll to show the girls its left side and then its right side, showing that there was only a cutie mark on its left flank.
"It's one-sided," said Rarity.
Sweetie Belle gave Diamond Tiara a wicked smile and stood beside her.
"Remind you of anypony?" whispered Sweetie Belle.
One step at a time, indeed.
A nice cute story, that actually makes DT somewhat of a relatable individual. The sleep over sceen with DT and SS was the cutest I thought.
I have seen plenty of other stories that write Diamond Tiara well, but what you do here that is really unique is write how the adults (especially Cheerilee and Filthy Rich) act TOWARDS Diamond Tiara in a very realistic fashion.

It was really well done and the characters were so in-character I expected them to leap out at me in eye-searing 3-D.
I couldn't handle the crush thing all that well though. Not because it wasn't just as awesome mind you!

And Tiara should get some development, too, as often as she's used as a one-dimensional foil. I liked it.

Absolutely adorable...Granted, Diamond Tiara being struck with a crush usually is, to me. Wonderful premise and characterizations. And for such a short story, a very tight narrative.

Great story. I always have time for something Rarity related (Rarilated?) and this didn't disappoint.
I loved your portrayal of Diamond Tiara, especially the idea that she gets on pretty well with the rest of the class and it is just the CMC she clashes with.
In fact I liked the portrayal so much I actually found myself there was less Sweetie and more Rarity and Diamond interaction.
Rarity was also shown excellently as a great teacher and sister, as we all know her to be.
Filthy Rich too was great, and your version of him nearly identically mirrored my head-cannon. In fact, there wasn't a single character who wasn't portrayed anything less than excellently, which is a Rarity (I went there) in fanfiction.
I also think you handled Diamond's crush very well, the doodles at the end were a great portrayal of childhood infatuation.
And finally, great length. Too many stories end when you're getting really into them, this didn't suffer from that.
In short, fantastic read, definitely a site favourite. I'd also like to add my encouragement and enthusiasm for a sequel on the pile.
