Always on an ego trip, but feeling like I should have saved what I already typed before.

I'm liking this very much, tracking and looking forward to next chapter.

So this made it here... Nice. I saw this on EqD and have loved it so far. Please, please write more. DW will be ever so :pinkiehappy: if you do.

Ponified rage virus? Most of the Main 6 revived from the dead and technically infected?

Thank you muchly. I know it's bullshit how long I've taken to finish the third part, but I'm readying it for posting now.

So, they're zombies of a sort. Not the rotting corpse seeking brains type but more like a kind of golem. The idea of a rage virus or spell seems good, but unevenly done. Some ponies don't seem too effected, others apparently are rampaging killers. :pinkiecrazy:

I like the undertone of some sort of sinister conspirancy involving Ponyville, the Mayor is planing something and the hints that "Five" is some sort of bigwig, my guess is that he runs the school.:twilightoops:

Now the idea of Fluttershy butchering a chicken is a shock, but considering that she seemed to do it humanely suggest that she had a reason to do it, Maybe they are forced to eat chickens, or barter meat with other animals?:yay:

BTW, there is one BIG plot hole: WHERE IS SPIKE?:moustache:
Spike is practically Twilight's adopted son and almost constant companion, yet Twilight hasn't even given him a single thought. To me it seems like one of the first things she would ask about after being resurrected.:facehoof:

PS, tracking and thumbs up. :pinkiehappy:

Looks like their cover-up story back-fired a bit. /understatement
So, Zecora's missing, and a female unicorn is approaching from the distance, with the guards unsure of what to do with her. I think I know where this is going.

A few minor grammar mistakes, but nothing too major.

There were a few moments where the characters felt just a TAD out of character, but all and all this is a very interesting story. I'm impressed yet again by your work. I advise doing a quick editing skim through this and it'll be gold.

i remember reading this a long while back. finally a new chapter is out!

Stupid government.:pinkiesick:
Awaiting the next chapter.

A story about dead ponies isn't so dead after all...:pinkiecrazy:

"They look nothing like the old Elements!"
Tactical anus rapeing with a boot inbound.

Not much comedy in there so far but by Celestia this stuff is quite interesting. :trixieshiftleft:

More please. :moustache:

Thanks for the notice and pleasant replies! Regarding your comment, 675, you're right, that's sloppy capitalization. I thought leaving it uncapitalized was confusing, but it's still incorrect as I wrote it. As I write the last chapter in the Ponyville arc, I also plan on editing the first three as was suggested long ago.

Lets open this up for the floor. Who here is waiting for Rarity to come back as some sort of Dust Lich? Maybe an ash and clay golem a la that one ***** from Inu Yasha?

I think you mean Cactus, not boot. Maybe an oversized pineapple, if you have ever watched Little Nickie. :pinkiehappy:

Do what needs to be done to make it the best it can be, without burning yourself out. The last thing... The absolute LAST thing we need is for you to get so frustrated with this that you abandon the story. ...well, actually, tied for last would be you dying, but Critical Existence Failure isn't really something one can plan around.

...

so they spent years worried Twilight was a... whatever... and now they find out she isn't, so he's all like OH THANK GOD.

I'm really curious as to how this happened. It's really strange to think about.

Also, I think it's weird that lack of food has resulted in eating animals- it takes way more food to raise an animal to eat than to just eat the food.

as i said MOARMOAR!!!more!!!

Oh, hey, this is on FimFiction! And has been since at least March...! :twilightoops: Why do I never know these things? +thumb +fave

its like pirates, zombies, monsters, vampires, and creepypasta all together! im scared. :twilightoops:

Fucked around and got some more work done. If it's confusing, let me know where--I'll fix it. Sorry to previous readers!

What is this glory oh my god must favorite cannot words properly to convey how delighted I am at this

Isn't there a comic kind of like this? I think it's called "Crossed" or something similar.

3056590
Indeed. Damn, I wish you didn't have to buy the comic to read it.

3056601
Why? Does it go for a lot on eBay or something?

3056602
Nope. You actually have to buy it from a comic store. Sadly, in my town comic stores are rare.

3056607
Ah. Well, consider yourself lucky. I have to take a 3- or 4-hour drive to go to a comic store that isn't that good. And don't get me started on arcades.

3056590
Hadn't heard of it previously, but the description and images I found of it seem like the kind of vibe I was originally going for. I don't think I'm that hardcore.

I remember this... I remember liking it, too. A lot. Has it really been so long? This musta been one of the first stories I ever read here.

Hell. It's about time.

3056628
Well, to be fair, there's a library and 2 Barnes & Noble within 10 miles of my house. The thing is, even big names like Spider-Man and Deadpool are pretty rare. i ended up having to buy Ultimate Spider-Man from Amazon. And unless Crossed comes in those volumes which contain multiple issues in one book, yeah, I'm DEFINITELY screwed.

3056658
You can still see the most gruesome cover pictures though.

A virus affecting ponies that turns them into mindless monsters? This seems eerily familiar to 'Don't go outside' by Wolokai

the best bet would be open the gates and let town be purged of the filth that infests it

So... I'm confused. This whole thing seemed to imply that the story was being cancelled, and you were just letting us know what would have happened had you written it. But the story isn't labeled as cancelled or on hiatus or anything, and none of the comments so far are indicating that they got the same vibe I did, which makes me wonder if I just missed something. :twilightblush:

Is this being cancelled, or is this somehow going to try to continue from here?

3058530
Even though the pony gods are metaphorical, they're still characters. Despite what Parthenon said, I'll keep writing the story. Writing in this style was really fun, so I rolled with it, but I probably won't fuck around as much with the narrative in future chapters.

I might roll back on their dead world insistence a little bit. Not sure there's as much use to it as I originally planned.

3058749
So this IS continuing? Fucking yes! This really is such an interesting premise, and despite how long ago you started writing this, I still haven't noticed any other stories with anything like it. You've still pretty much got a monopoly on the whole "mane 6 come back from the dead as zombies to help save the world from apocalypse" thing, lol.

That said, please don't abuse this form of 'narration' too much. Or at all. It's interesting enough as a one-time novelty that it's acceptable as a 'real' chapter, especially if it helps you get out of your writing rut after all this time and move the story along to a potentially more interesting part that you might feel more motivated to write about; but if it keeps happening, it will quickly get old and irritating. :twilightblush:

3059328
I agree! I took a lazy approach, not having to characterize the main characters according to canon, and it's just not the same story I began telling. The rest of the story will be regular third-person, though eventually there will be an in-story explanation for this chapter.

3061053
Not sure what you mean, man. Are you talking about that Macgyver episode in Africa with the blow fish poison zombies? That was my first inspiration for voodoo zombies, except instead of using pseudo-real shit like that I threw together some silly voodoo cliches. You weren't actually talking about Macgyver, were you?

3070699
Oh, the fungus zombie ants. I've read about them before, but both the bloodlust and Twilight and co. are magically altered. Magic or fake voodoo, whatever. At this point in the story, I'm still defining what exactly the bloodlust does to ponies. The scene in Canterlot was an escalated situation, and it's atypical to what anyone normally acts like even with the bloodlust.

there is a cancelled setting, you know

3666464 It's not cancelled, I'm just infuriatingly slow.

Finally had time to reread this chapter. I think I notice some changes. Hopefully I be able to read rest of your chapter by this week or next week.

4883684
Ha, don't worry, you have plenty of time; it'll be another month or so until I even get chapter six out.

So you took a different approach with Fluttershy. this time. At least she not killing any animals..

4893396
Yup, yup. Nearly all the individual events in the arc have changed (for the better, I hope), but they're all leading up to the same conclusion as before—mostly. I'm confident it'll be a fun read even for those who slogged through the Trinity chapter and already know the fate of Ponyville.
