Well that was a bit ... unsettling. data3.whicdn.com/images/22169701/large.gif Discord was so close in his escape and his release from the pain at the end. Death would have been a blessing from living enduring this torment. Either Fluttercruel might regret her actions towards Discord deep down or she is just afraid of how Twilight would react.
When you consider the logic he was thinking, which is odd for the spirit of disharmony, why does this world's Spike put up with these cruel ponies in spite of their actions and behavior?
Twilight is an all powerful alicorn now so the Mane six and Spike should have an advantage against their darker counterparts.
If they fail to reform the opposition mane six they should consider destroying the corrupted elements, cut off opposition Twilight's horn, or take the other Spike with them.
I am just hoping they get Discord and stop the Elements of opposition before it is to late.
This couldn't be breaking his heart, Celestia had done that centuries ago and now he didn't have one.
That is one of the saddest things I've ever read about any version of Discord -- the more so because it obviously isn't true. In its own way, it's worse than the torture.
The really sick thing is that I suspect that Fluttercruel loves him in her own way. In the only way she now knows how to express love. Which is a sanity-blasting concept in and of itself.
It might, but no guarantees. This part was actually written in January; I've written nothing at all for two weeks (well, a few paragraphs here and there) for health reasons. Now that I've resolved my health issues I hope to be back to my earlier output of approx 2K words a day, but I can't make promises. Also I have like five other incomplete stories I am trying to rotate through; if I hyperfocus on any one story then I will lose momentum on the others and they'll end up in the incomplete story graveyard.
Fluttercruel regretted her actions. Of all the Mane 6, she's the one who is most aware that what she's become is her own antithesis, but she lost the ability to successfully fight her new urges a long time ago. She knows she's turned cruel and she doesn't like it but she can't stop herself. When she accidentally hit him in the face and she saw him lose consciousness, it shocked her into realizing how far she had gone. She doesn't want him to die, not because she's afraid of Twilight but because in a really twisted screwed up way she genuinely cares for him. Or at least sees him as her possession and doesn't want to lose him.
Spike's reasons for not rejecting the new Twilight are actually fairly obvious, I'd have thought. Just like people stick by their alcoholic or drug addicted relatives because they love that person and the way they behave under the influence of the drug is not truly them, just like people stick by mentally ill loved ones, Spike perceives what has become of his friends and family as being not truly them, and he stays with them in hopes that someday they will be healed and turn back into the ponies he knows. Also, where's he gonna go? Dragons are viewed as both dangerous and barely sentient; where would he get a job, how would he survive? He doesn't want to go live with dragons, they're selfish and cruel by nature, not by something Discord did to them. So he stays with Twilight despite the emotional abuse because he loves her, and he blames Discord for what she's become rather than blaming her, and he hopes that someday she can become her true self again.
And Twilight's advantage might be less than you'd think. Yes, she's an alicorn. But Opposition Twilight became Opposition Twilight by joining herself with a powerful mystic object that gives her additional power. The other Mane 6 were just corrupted by Discord, but Opposition Twilight has taken on something extra. So we'll see.
Also I have like five other incomplete stories I am trying to rotate through; if I hyperfocus on any one story then I will lose momentum on the others and they'll end up in the incomplete story graveyard.
Tell me about it. I notice that my incomplete stories mostly have different subgeneres: black comedy (An Epistolary Legal Consultation Between Princesses), psychological horror/romance (Love Amongst Monsters), social dramedy (A Long Night at the Hippodrome), science-fictional speculation (Twelfth Equestriad Interview), tragic high science-fantasy (Corruption at Nightfall) and epic-heroic science fantasy (All the Way Back). That lets me write what I'm in the mood to do. Also, keeps me from letting the darker stories depress me too much.
Why didn't Nightmare Moon immediately side with Celestia to take down Discord? Wouldn't taking down Discord so she can make the night last forever be her top priority?
Nightmare Moon was never really about the night lasting forever. She was always about resenting and hating Celestia. She's made from Luna's jealousy and anger, not Luna's love; Luna loves the night. Nightmare Moon may love the night as well but her primary characteristic is jealousy and anger. So she couldn't work together with Celestia for very long under any circumstances, and since what Discord was trying to do was get an entertaining three-way fight going where the two of them would fight him and each other, he would taunt Nightmare Moon and reinforce her jealousy of her sister when it looked like they might be able to put their differences aside. Nightmare Moon isn't rational; yes, working with Celestia against Discord and then going after Celestia would make logical sense, but she isn't born of the part of Luna that does logic.
Awkward Conversations, Love Friendship and Chaos, The Last Draconequus, The King Who Would Be Man, The Tale of the Terrible Doctor Twilight
and I might be going back to Stumble in my Footsteps.
Oh, and World without Harmony, which is stories from the Oppositionverse. And now there is Robot Scootaloo. Neither of which have gotten to the point where I can publish them yet.
Nightmare Moon isn't rational; yes, working with Celestia against Discord and then going after Celestia would make logical sense, but she isn't born of the part of Luna that does logic.
She isn't rational? That would explain why she tried to scare away the Mane Six, and why she cut off that sea serpent's moustashe off. (Seriously, what kind of Pony villain does that?)
I really want Discord to burn this world to the ground. It's probably not gonna happen that way, but that seems like a very attractive result of all this.
Um. Because I'm a sadist who likes to torture my favorite characters, but too much of a softy to pick on characters who are genuinely innocent, so instead I put villains and reformed villains through hell? I think that's why, but I try not to look into it too deeply. :-)
LOVING THIS! The rape and torture were awful to read, but the story as a whole is so well written... it's kind of addictive. I hope you have the next part out soon ^^
Dang, that ending sentence just nailed it. Now I really can't wait to see what happens next. A part of me really wants to read Discord gore his tormentors.
monofilament carbon: aka diamond good word use but diamond will not bend and the whip whould be a sword not a whip.even if she had aww buck it its a land of psychotic talking ponys just me being critacal.
4918819 Monofilament carbon isn't actually diamond, it's just understood to be diamond by ponies because of their relatively low understanding of science. It's carbon molecules in a single strand where each carbon is bonded to the carbon in front of it and the carbon behind it by two bonds, thus making it very strong for something that is essentially one atom wide. The incredibly narrow width of it is why it's flexible; unlike diamond, where every carbon is bonded to four other carbons in an array that expands sideways, and therefore has no ability to bend, monofilament carbon is as close to one-dimensional as a real substance can be, so it is very flexible. And because it's a single atom wide, it's very, very sharp. A single strand of monofil carbon would actually be invisible, because we can't see something as small as an atom. The whip is a braided strand of multiple threads of monofilament carbon, because otherwise it'd be unusable.
I had to stop after reading this chapter for an hour. It was horrible and confronting read but so aptly describes an abusive relationship at the end, that Discord tried to escape and failed, and that Fluttercruel was 'helping' Discord heal and patting them and saying she wouldn't do it again and Discord found comfort in it. It chilled me. The writing of this story is so amazing and I don't think it could impress me any more.
Well that was a bit ... unsettling.

Very good. It is rare for me to feel sorry for a fictional character, but damn, Discord REALLY needs a break.
So I take it that the next chapter will come out quickly?

4058943 What are the five incomplete stories?
Why didn't Nightmare Moon immediately side with Celestia to take down Discord? Wouldn't taking down Discord so she can make the night last forever be her top priority?
What are the Cutie Mark Crusaders like in the oppositionverse? That is to say, what do they think about their sisters (and Rainbow Dash) now?

Yes.
Yup, that was as fucked up as I thought it'd be... I hate and love this story...
Why. Just, why?

O I need to now what happens to the nice fluttershy and disco, please updata
I, ah, think I'm going to wait for the next chapter to continue reading. Thank you for the warning at the start of the chapter.
Can't wait for the next chapter!

ok i know he's discord but he dont deserve this
Huh. Well I'll admit he actually almost got away twice this chapter.
Once through a window and once through death.
If Fluttercruel hadn't sat on his wing - probably a deliberate action - then he could well and truly be free.
Well...until one of the girls came calling his name and he was forced to reveal himself.
